Norwegian Air does not even cover a glass of water. They are pathetic. We will travel with Swiss Air again."

Minusy: "I liked everything except the airplane itself, which I hated. I was fortunate enough to get an exit row on my long flight going over; I did not get lucky on my way home. The flights between Zurich and Brindisi were more comfortable than the long haul flights. The long haul flights are abominable and should be outlawed by governments as they are currently configured. The boy next to me literally could not fit his legs/thigh bones in the space provided by his seat. I did okay as I am not tall, until the woman in front of me decided to lean back. It is not her fault, however, though I thought nasty things about her and periodically tried to dig my knees into her back to get her to lift up her seat. The fault belongs entirely to Swiss Air, which chooses to treat human customers as steerage. The only thing that made the experience worse was the impossibility of choosing my seat online for my return because I had only a smart phone with not-great wifi available. Choosing one's seat should not be dependent on having good wifi and a computer, however. It is bad practice to "sell" seat choices. The families around me were not able to sit together because of this shoddy, greedy practice on the part of the airline. It is also not fair, subsequently, that other passengers are faced with giving up the seats they've chosen, or been given, to assist families in sitting together. Honestly, the extent of the greed on the part of airlines nowadays is astonishing. What used to be a thoroughly enjoyable way of traveling has become an ordeal at best."

Minusy: "It was awful getting boarding passes and paying for check in luggage in Venice. I assumed we couldn't check in early online much like the earlier Lufthansa flight. Then when we got to the airport there were long lines to check in and no machines to self check in. When we finally got to the front of the line the woman said we had to pay for our checked baggage elsewhere and then come back for the boarding passes. Unheard of elsewhere. The people in the office where you pay for checked baggage took their time and chatted and had no sense of urgency. The first woman we spoke to apparently filled out the form incorrectly. We had to rush to get to the plane and we barely made it through long security lines. We almost missed the plane due to the lack of early information and check in, the cumbersome payment process, etc. It was the worst check in process ever."

If LH knows that the flight is booked close to capacity I would have expected they do their part and due diligence by swapping to a bigger aircraft to help protect people and their customers, it’s not that they wouldn’t have other aircrafts grounded and ready to go... A reduced beverage service is all you can do, really? LH - very disappointing once again"

I had to put my luggage under the seat for the entire flight, which ended up reducing the very reduced legroom. What this airline is trying to do is; to charge passengers twice for cabin size luggage. This has been my worst experiences with airlines. Lufthansa is definitely an airline to avoid."

However, this leg of the trip was so late that I barely made it to third leg of the trip. A huge problem is that each of these international airports require that you go through the security check again. For that reason, connecting legs of trips through these airports should not be scheduled so close together. Heathrow is the worst, with security staff that, at best, don’t care that you have a close connection to make and just ignore your pleas to speed up the process, and at worst, are just plain rude."

Coming through chicago is a nightmare. Customs are rude, everyone shouting, disorganized lines and horrible signage. Ticketing was horrible, rude agents, rude TSA, etc, etc.

It was only compounded by the fact that when we were landing, another attendant insisted I put seat completely upright, and when I told her it had been broken the entire trip, she began forcefully shoving my seat. Not awesome."
Minusy: "Seats are too small and dont recline for an 8 hour flight. You feel like an animal in a cage. No choice for dinner and no snacks between dinner and breakfast."
Minusy: "Flight to Stockholm was cancelled. SAS Provided no informaton on the steps for re-scheduling my flight. I had to call the SAS headquarters in Stockholm before receiving any guidance on what to do next. All service attendants ditched the ticketing desk leaving one poor employee to answer questions for over 70 disgruntled passengers. Very very very poor communication. Luckily I was finally able to book a flight using another airline after waiting on hold for 20 minutes with the regional customer service provider."
Minusy: "Cramped in a tiny seat behind someone well over 6’5 who kept slamming his seat back to get more room. We were later diverted for a person on the flight who had health issues all the way back to Canada when we were practically over Ireland. We flew back I believe an hour and a half back only to not have proper fuel equipment which took fueling forever and caused our crew to go past their duty day which made use get diverted again to Iceland for a new crew and even more gas. We were held on the plane for a total of 8 additional hours! We were never allowed to get off the plane, we were given very minimal food and drink the additional 8 hours, and when my girlfriend asked what was going on your information person in Copenhagen said they had no idea what was going on with my Flight and had no idea where it was."

Minusy: "We waited an hour in the plane before take-off and after boarding, during which time the crew deliberately filled the cabin icecold air thick with the highly toxic fumes from the deicing. I got a headache from it. Throughout the process the entertainment units were disabled, when they could have helped distract passengers from this ordeal. The food was disgusting. When the Danish government has repatedly bailed out SAS, it would make a lot more sense for everyone involved to have higher quality Danish products on board for the meals, especially for such things as dairy products."

The seats, though not overly large, we're comfortable and not tight. The food was good and service was fast and efficient. Overall a good experience."
Plusy: "I loved that there were a lot of different movies, TV shows, games, music, and more to choose from- all for free! Then there was a dinner- not bad at all-, a snack later on, and breakfast too, all included. Headphones if you needed them ( lifesaver there as I had temporary misplaced mine), a blanket, and a pillow. The crew was really polite, and there was never more than one person in line for the bathroom."
Plusy: "They gave us blankets and pillows. Each seat had its own entertainment system but it only worked with the earbuds given out by the crew and the controls were cumbersome to use."
Minusy: "The plane was hot and stuffy the entire trip. There are no longer individual controls for air. It was so uncomfortable and we were hot a sweaty the whole flight. The crew said that there was nothing they could do about it."

Minusy: "Since the flight was delayed taking off, the layover in Stockholm was very short. The airline did nothing to rush those of us through or contact our connecting SAS flights, and a few of us missed our connections by just a few minutes because of it. SAS did provide alternate tickets for me, but I arrived at my destination several hours late and the whole situation could have been avoided pretty easily."

Minusy: "I was in economy/SAS Go class, so it was nearly impossible to get more than one or two hours of sleep on a long flight, (i.e. about eight hours). Maybe they should reserve the seats with extra leg room for those who actually need it, and have the seats recline even further."

If you are priority boarding, please stand her. After that, if you are business class, please stand here. Everyone else, please wait, but know that we will start to board from the back of the plane. Minusy: "Late take- off and landing. Indifferent flight attendants. Two of my children were bullied into giving up their bulkhead seats to a couple with a child. We had to pay extra for those seats and we were given no compensation."
Plusy: "The plane was brand new with comfortable seats that had adjustable headrests. This made sleeping very easy. I was impressed with the food and the flight attendants were great."
Minusy: "The seating area was cramped making it difficult to move around, do work or view the screen.I know this is typical of coach class but I still don't like it. The selection of movies was adequate but smaller than I'm used to. There wasn't much in the way of music to choose from. Only one choice for jazz and classical."

ALSO, SAS/United booked my connection through O'Hare, giving me about 1.5 hours to clear customs and security...I was only able to make my flight due to some nice people who let me cut lines and a lot of running through the terminal. Generally annoyed with the experience."
Plusy: "I slept for most of the flight, and had space to lie down. I skipped the dinner, and the stewardesses did not wake me up at all, inspite of their serving most people on board. When I woke up close to landing, I asked for a cup of coffee, which the stewardesses made for me promptly. The flight was smooth, and the good night's rest was refreshing."

Plusy: "I flew in economy. 9+ hours from ORD to HEL. The seat was average size. We were provided with a pillow, blanket and headphones. I did not use the in-flight entertainment, which was on an LCD screen. It was warm, so i didn't use the blanket. I also brought a neck-pillow, which is vital on overnight flights. They served a full dinner shortly after takeoff: I had meat lasagna which wasn't that bad, along with corn, a roll w/ butter, two saltine crackers with decent cheese and a chocolate pudding. Upon waking, I ate the breakfast, which was scrambled eggs and two sausages and a roasted tomato, a roll with butter, fruit cup and orange juice, coffee on the side. All pretty good, it was nice to have a meal before deplaning in Helsinki and waiting to get through passport control. Attendants on this flight were quite friendly. Check-in was run very efficiently. No problems with luggage. All in all, a real bargain price, and I got more than I bargained for."
Minusy: "As for the downside, I had no significant disappointments on the long leg of my flight on Finnair. I hope my return flights will be just as good."

I had to exit use the external train (which was delayed) and go through the very slow Terminal 5 security. Almost missed my ORD-LHR flight (arrived at the gate after the official closing time)"

Minusy: "Our flight from Chicago to Paris was managed by Finnair, but flown through American Airlines. This was the second disappointing flight on American Airlines. Our first flight was repeatedly delayed over three hours and then canceled. Everyone had to take a new flight the next day on the same plane which was scheduled to be fixed that morning prior to departure. We boarded the plane 45 minutes late and then were informed that the part needed to fix the plan had just cleared customs. After another hour of waiting on the plane, we taxied to the runway and the returned to the gate because another part needed to be fixed on the plane. We waited another hour and a half on the plane before finally taking off. Upon our arrival at Chicago O'Hare, we waited on the tarmac for 30 minutes before the ground crew parked our plane. Which brings me to this flight from Chicago O'Hare to Charles de Gaulle in Paris. Our flight was delayed for maintenance repeatedly for 2 hours and then a new plane had to be brought over. By the time we boarded we were almost four hours behind schedule due to a logbook problem once we boarded the new plane. The plane itself was small - the size of a domestic flight - and VERY cramped. On both of the flights we had no TVs in the headrest. This is something that I have always had in economy class on international flights. It was by far the most uncomfortable flight I have ever been on. Because of the delay, we had to reschedule one of our two connecting flights. I was assured that our bags would still arrive at our final destination. When we finally reached our final destination, we found out that our bags had been lost along the way - most likely because of the flight being rescheduled."
Plusy: "Staff was kind, flight itself generally went smoothly. The boarding process itself went fairly quickly, and I was able to disembark within minutes of landing."
Minusy: "This Finnair flight was operated by American Airlines, but American Airlines did not notify me about the change in flight number until I called in a panic the night before because I was unable to check in. The plane was nearly 2 hours late departing from Chicago O'Hare with no explanation given. 1hr and 45 minutes is a long time to sit without going anywhere. Food was incredibly uninspiring and the staff was kind, but generally seemed distracted. I asked for a beverage at one point, but the flight attendant was too busy trying to get the passenger next to me who was passed out on sleeping pills to put the window shade down to give it to me. American Airlines is one of the only carriers left that has not upgraded to individual entertainment units for transatlantic flights and so the entertainment was like something straight out of Mad Men. Probably my worst flying experience to date."

Minusy: "The passengers next to me smelled severely of body odor. I know that this isn't something the flight crew can do anything about but it made my flight really uncomfortable. Thankfully the seat next to me opened. So I loved a seat away- but even that couldn't mask the smell!"

Minusy: "I regularly fly between Chicago and London and dread having to get on AA90. The planes are ridiculously old with barely any legroom and no seat-back entertainment. On this occasion, my friend sitting next to me, who is 5'10" had his knees right up against the seat in front. When the passengers in front reclined it was almost impossible to get comfortable. There is no seat-back entertainment. For some this may not be a big deal, what with iPads and other devices, but it speaks to AA's failure to consider it's customers comfort and ease on long-haul flights."

I have my ticket receipt but who keeps their paper boarding pass these days? Hope my photo of the gate details suffices for my boarding pass."
