The food looked good tasted good and was plentiful. The pyjama were a nice added touch and very comfortable for the long flight. Flying into Cardiff airport was so good for my intended destination. Minusy: "I was not given any option regarding the change of my departure flight from Colombo. Originally it was scheduled for 13th 3.25AM and it was brought forward to 12th night 20.20. This caused inconvenience to me and my family to wait 7 hours for the connecting flight to Johannesburg from Doha. When the flight is changed by airline for their convenience, they would have given preferential treatment to the passengers involved. We had to bare the cost of food and make us comfortable on our own due to the delay in transit."

Minusy: "Ground crews remain the downfall of this airline. Long line in Doha to re-clear security on international connection FROM USA! Fastidiously weighing and forcing mutiple repacks of carry-on bags even though well under total limit of checked & carry. (Doha agent told me dfferent rules appied for carrry on 2nd plane even though I asked specifically frm original agent who checked me thru to final dest--insisted I check main carry on even though there turned out to be plenty of overhead room on board). Poor coordination of checkin lines, security lanes, and flow of people -- all fixable with a little forethought, engineering, and better utilization of circulation space -- and much clearer communication!"

Minusy: "Checking in at the airport- the staff person who I dealt with was combative and inflexible. I had to ask the manager to mediate till the matter was resolved. As frequent travelers, I am aware rules change and am willing to comply. Being told my hand baggage had to be checked in and I cannot redistribute the weight or put things into my checking bags that were yet to be tagged was unreasonable. Started my trip on a negative note which was avoidable. I have found the training crew get and the ground staff get are disparate. As efficient as the onboard crew are, the ground staff in DXB and now NYC do not match up."

Minusy: "My bag was left in Newark and did not make it to Greece. Absolutely unacceptable"

Plusy: "Fantastic flight from start to finish lax to dubai. I was offered upgrade to business class from economy for $1000 USD which was well worth the cost as the 15 1/2 flight can be tough in economy. The a380 is smooth, much more quiet and is pressurized to lower altitude than most planes so you do get off feeling more refreshed. Service and food were good and the inflight entertainment is first class with hundreds of movies on demand."
Minusy: "Took 50min after deboarding for luggage to arrive at baggage claim but I'm told that's not the usual and emirates staff were there to apologize and let us know of the unusual delay."

The agents would talk amongst themselves but there were no announcements. With the result that everyone rushed at once for boarding. The lady agent who was scanning the passes kept yelling at people to form a line but by then it was too late On the flight, they ran out of vegetarian meals by the time they got to my seat!!"

Plusy: "Twice on this nearly 8-hour flight attendants passed through the cabin with hot cloths to clean face and hands. Very refreshing! Good food."
Minusy: "This is not about the plane or the airline; rather the airport in Dubai: build better restroom facilities for your female passengers! Near gate 29 is a women's restroom with just 2 toilet stalls and one sink! Wholly inadequate for the 3-4 gates it serves."

Minusy: "The crew seemed a bit put off, just not very friendly. Maybe something had happened that put them all in a bad mood I'm not sure. Despite this they did help people without complaint, but you could tell they didn't want to be there. Again on this flight the TVs were an old model that was difficult to use, you had to push really hard and finagle your finger to get it to read what you were pressing."

Minusy: "I told the flight attendant while boarding that it was not appropriate to have very little children on a flight of this length. Much to my chagrin, an Indian woman had two howling urchins one row in front of me. These howling urchins proceeded to scream their lungs out for 11 of the 13 hours of the flight!! One of the babies was so small, it looked like she had just pushed the critter out earlier that day!! Had they told the Indian woman to drive or swim to Dubai, the ratings would've have been excellent. I did not pay good money to have to sit in a NURSERY!!!!!"

Minusy: "Piece of checked baggage was lost en-route. It took over 2 hours to get through checked baggage and customs in the middle of the night because after we had already filled out all information regarding piece of luggage with one baggage counter employee. Japanese Customs refused to let us through due to "unaccompanied baggage" since the piece was lost by the airline and had us go back to another baggage employee who couldn't grasp that we already went through the process and had no clue what to do."

I called Swiss as soon as I landed, and I've told my request was sent but it was never confirmed. They also told me they will send me an email when the basinet for the return flight is confirmed. At this point, I'm not even sure what I paid the $98.93 for."

Overall, I am done with Swiss until they upgrade their planes. Wifi was 99usd for 220 mo ... what a joke. A 20+yo plane for a such reputated company. There was still the ashtrays inside the restrooms."

Plusy: "I really liked the "About my flight" application on the viewing screens because it always gave me an idea of what we were flying over and how much longer we woulld be in the air. The food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that I could have wine with dinner or any time the attendants offered beveragess. The attendants were always professional and helpful. They all were fluent in English as well as several other languages. It was a nice touch when the attendant wore white gloves when he or she was collecting passengers' trash after meals and/or beverage service. I loved the cheese that was served at dinner. The warm croissants served at breakfast were a very nice touch."
Minusy: "Due to turbulence, I could not get out of my seat as much on the return flight, so I did have some swelling in my feet."

Minusy: "The seats decline fairly far back into the next seat. As a result, some of the passengers got agitated if they do not go with the flow and decline like dominoes. Both legs of the flight we had the people seated behind us kicking and shoving our seats. One gentleman was kicking my seat for a couple hours and made a scene on the outgoing flight. The stewardess addressed the gentleman and explained that I had to decline my seat because the seat in front of me was declined. My knees were jammed into the seat in front of me, so every time the gentleman kicked me, it not only hurt my back, but my knees. The couple behind us on the return flight jumped the line to get onto the flight, kept kicking our seats and then pretended they did not understand when we asked that they stop. I think the pilot should address the issue upfront so this toddler like behavior does not go on. I am not sure if it is common behavior, but not something I have experienced on an American carrier."

Minusy: "They lost my bag and after 24 hours, still no word on whether it's been located."

Plusy: "I like that Coke Zero was available."
Minusy: "My chair was stuck in the fully reclined position for a good portion of the flight and my wife's chair was constantly being knocked into by the passenger behind her because his seat was too short for him. When the seat in front of me was reclined, the screen was only a few inches from my face. There was a loud, obnoxious passenger next to me who almost got into a fistfight with another passenger until the stewardess came to calm him down."

I havent Flown in a while and was surprised at how tight the seats were since i last flew - both flying from the US to Istanbul and vice versa. However, for the shorter two hour connecting flights, from Istanbul to Tel Aviv, the seats seemed to have more room. This does not make sense."

Minusy: "I have been told at the airport that I had an unconfirmed flight and was told that I could not travel to Istanbul. I am still at my departure city, in Chicago. I bought my tickets just like anybody would, go on the website, pick the flights and pay. But someone did not do their job correctly and did not correctly confirm my flight. I paid for this incompetence by missing Christmas and a business meeting. Do not think it will never happen to you, it is just a matter of time that this kind of bad service catches up to you. The system is so disconnected or careless that it can't even figure out I couldn't take the flight which it is is asking me a review for."

I have yet to hear an explanation from anyone about what happened or a simple sorry for your trouble. This is operational incompetence at full display. Never Again!"

Minusy: "They refused to print my boarding pass when I made to the counter on time. Because I didn't have a boarding pass I could not make the flight and had to rebook for 3 days later"

No one would help you when you need it in the airports and their desks are not open long enough to get the help that you need in Amman. Also, when you ask the information desk at the airport in Amman to call someone from Turkish Airlines they tell you that they can't because they won't come. I hope that this feedback would be used to make the airlines better because Turkey is truly a beautiful place."

Minusy: "There were a few small things that could have been better (Which I'll mention), but the worst thing about the flight was the airport. Ataturk Airport is a mess. After the attempted coup, they really upped security, forcing all international flights to go through a second security screening after transferring from another airport. It's understandable but the line moved at a molasses-like speed when I had only 25 minutes to make my connecting flight. The security personnel were rude, as well. Also, when I went to make my connecting gate in Cairo, there was no one at the gate after the required boarding time (Because security had held us up), forcing some of us to board the plane without having anyone to show us onto the plane (Very scary). The flight boarding was chaotic, and no announcements were made about what we were supposed to do. Besides the lack of boarding gates, the only other serious complaint I had against Turkish Airlines (Because it really was great overall) was that the pilots and flight attendants were very hard to understand. I have taught ESL for the past 5 years, and I still had a hard time as an American understanding their English. Also, they frequently didn't understand or misunderstood questions that I would ask them. I've never had a hard time understanding flight attendants on an international flight, but I only understood about 20% of what anyone said over the loud speaker in the plane. And it's nice to be able to understand when the pilot says, "We are experiencing some turbulence and would like everyone to buckle their seatbelts until it passes." Two small things remain: 1. The bathroom trash cans were full on every flight (A small thing but makes everything feel "trashy"). 2. The flight attendants seemed unhappy, and they definitely seemed unhappy to be serving us. I can only assume they are that way because they aren't treated particularly well by their bosses."

Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."
