I bought my tickets just like anybody would, go on the website, pick the flights and pay. But someone did not do their job correctly and did not correctly confirm my flight. I paid for this incompetence by missing Christmas and a business meeting. Do not think it will never happen to you, it is just a matter of time that this kind of bad service catches up to you. The system is so disconnected or careless that it can't even figure out I couldn't take the flight which it is is asking me a review for."

Went to the wrong gate for my connecting flight, Turkish air rep at the gate checked my boarding pass, didn't say a word about me being at the wrong gate. Tgere was no announcement of any kind (found out later, Turkish sir doesn't do announcement at the Istanbul airport. No clue as to why). Thought, tgere was another delay and by the time I asked, it was too late to catch my flight and that's when I got a full dose of every single person w Turkish air trying to stiff me with the most outrageous penalty for changing Nguyen my ticket. Started out at $1114 on a $758 ticket, then went down to $925 and if I stay over night, down to $750. Seriously? Rude, talking down at me and telling me that if I don't pay the penalty, my return ticket will be cancelled. I keep getting bounced from one person to another being told to wait here and wait there then I finally got so sick of all of it, bought a new connecting flight online, spending the night in Istanbul and will see what will happen w my return flight to the US. I call this 'theft' as if i buy an entire new ticket from Istanbul to Cairo then back to the US online, it will cost me less than the penalty they're trying to get me to pay. Shame on you Turkish airline!! You'd think w all the issues they're having w tourism in their country these days they'd care about not doing this kind of mistreatment of their clients."

Plusy: "My wife and I try to travel internationally 2 or 3 times a week to various parts of the world. International airlines tend to be better than the US-based ones, and Turkish Airlines was no exception. We flew from SFO -> IST in March 2016 and they were really milking the fact that they're in the new Batman vs Superman movie with ads on the in-flight magazines, a fancy bat-shaped trifold menu, on-board amenity bag, and even showed trailer after the safety video. At Istanbul, we saw another plane that was completely wrapped with the Batman vs Superman logo. Haha The service was very good, food was good (they even had the chefs greet people as they got on and off the plane), and they had a great selection of movies/entertainment. Despite all the hours I have flown, I'm not good with sleeping in economy seats and while the seats are good, I still can't sleep in these. I'm about 5'-10", average build, and didn't have a problem with legroom or seat width. I like that they also give out this little amenity bag with fluffy slippers, earplugs, lip balm, and I forget what else. It's embroidered with a Batman vs Superman logo on it. Not bad! Earbuds are also free, but I don't know the quality because I used my own. After taking off, they'll serve a meal, pass out drinks (fresh lemonade is only available when originating from Turkey), and then dim the lights and leave you alone. A couple hours before landing, they'll pass out drinks and and another meal. I didn't try, but you can request a cheese sandwich and drinks any time. The only difference with this airline is that everywhere else, the flight attendants will ask people to right up their seats during meals. They don't here and you have to ask the person in front to please sit up so their seat isn't all in your face. Turkey actually has a city called Batman (near the Syrian border), and some ruins called Metropolis (near Izmir). No, Turkish Airlines doesn't actually fly there so their ad copy is a little wrong. We didn't get a chance to visit either of these places, but it would've been cool to check them out."

I don't know which flights used the jetway, but all the flights we took from there (international and domestic) required boarding a bus between the plane and the gate."

Minusy: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Minusy: "PLANE DID NOT ARRIVE ON TIME AND OUR DEPARTURE DELAYED , WE PLANNED ENOUGH TIME FOR TRANSIT AT HELSINKI FOR TOKYO BUT WE HAVE TO RUN TO THE GATE"

Minusy: "flight # 742 canceled put in another plane, from other provider (LOT) going straight to Chicago; was not ready for it; we arrived at airport 2 hr before time of boarding and were rushed to plane going up in 45 min; very stressful; my daughter cried and we had no time to say good bays to family paid for selected seats - money not returned selected special meal - stayed hungry (8 hr fly) because they were not aware about our special needs; Finnair shold take care of it when canceling flight and putting us with other provider."

Plusy: "I liked everything. Pleasant flight."
Minusy: "Not that I didn't like, only some comments: Flight was 40 min late at arrival due to delayed start from JFK, the plane had to wait on runway before take-off. Not a problem for me as HEL was my final destination."

Plusy: "Flight was cancelled at lasy minute. so, all other flights missed. Last minute notification. rebooked on Lufthansa, but wrote wrong codes - more delay."

Plusy: "Very nice crew, Economy Premium seats had enough legroom, not a bad choice of movies on the flight"
Minusy: "Worst food I ever had on a plane (frequent traveler), I would be afraid to feed it to my dog, let alone eat it myself. Barely ate anything, spent most of my flight very hungry. Refused to eat breakfast at all, it was that bad! Please do something about it, it is outrageous to give people garbage like that."

Minusy: "They let us board before fixing an electrical problem causing major delay. They needed a new part and they thought they could jerryrig a repair!"

Plusy: "The flight was spacious, on time and everything went smoothly."

Minusy: "food was about the worst I have seen (with special mention to the coffee served as it was def the worst even for airplanes standards) could not check in online ( web would not allow me)"

Minusy: "30 min between flying"

Plusy: "Because of the delay taking off and refueling, they provisioned for an extra meal service. Choices were limited, but the food was decent. Crew was generally cordial and efficient. Even though there were only 13 empty seats, they made an effort to find us a place with an empty seat between us."
Minusy: "We were stopped and grilled by AA personnel as if we were potential terrorists, even though we had TSA Pre-check clearly listed on our boarding cards. flight was 1 hr delayed boarding. Since the plane was a 747 and there were stronger than average headwinds, we had to stop in Bangot to refuel. Net result: 2 3/4 hr late arrival."

Minusy: "very little leg room for anyone over 6 feet"

Plusy: "Great flight and nice people"
Minusy: "Because the flight was through british airways, extra baggage was $90 much more expensive than Finnair's prices. After paying that before departure to London I recieved an email from British Airways that stated an extra bag for both my flight to London and return flight to San Francisco had been fully paid for. At the airport I was told by British Airways employees that I would have to pay another $90 regardless of what my email said because their official prices are $90 each way not both. I showed them the confirmation I had recieved and all they could say was "that is confusing". There was very little empathy or attempt to help. As a result I was forced to leave the suitcase behind with my acquaintance in London and do an in airport shuffle of all of my belongings. The flight was great but beware emails that may not match up with online info."

Plusy: "The fact that I got home in one piece I really like."
Minusy: "Planes are old, small tv screens in aisles, older seats and headrests. I had requested Gluten Free meals and on the way to Amsterdam they did okay (besides the snacks). On the way back they didn't even offer me the second meal GF, I had to ask another flight attendant who went looking for it and found one.. so it was there, they just hadn't bothered to look for it. I also never understand why you wouldn't start boarding with the last rows? Is that just me? The aisles are always so crowded when the last rows walk in and there's always a line."

Minusy: "Even though we had booked this flight in September we were never able to choose a seat for this flight. We kept trying and the only way we could pick a seat months and weeks ahead was if we bought an upgrade. We had already spent over $1000 to fly to Paris each and did not want to buy an upgrade. We just wanted the assignment of a seat. When we got closer to the date we were told that we would get a seat assignment at check in. At check in we were told we would get a seat assignment at the airport. At the airport we were told we would get a seat assignment at the GATE! At the GATE the attendant had difficulty finding our seats and finally found them with the help of another attendant. This adding extreme stress to a trip that was planned in September and should have been a pleasureable experience. Our seats were not together and we then had to go on the plane and ask other travelers to change their seats in order to be near each other. This was not our job! We ended up near each other but not together. Then when we arrived in Paris we noticed that our suitcases had been tagged STAND BY!!!!!! We were glad that we did not see that at the Philadelphia airport because it would have added even more stress to a long anticipated pleasure trip to Paris. Next time we will make sure that the tickets we are purchasing (FINNAIR) have nothing to do with American Airlines."

Plusy: "Not bad as cross-ocean flights go, but cramped. The seats (and the available room per person) are what would be considered normal nowadays, but I remember flying thirty years ago. The crew was very pleasant and snacks were served (and appreciated), but didn't make up for the cramped conditions."

Plusy: "Crew was accommodating, entertainment movies was good and food/snacks was not bad for transatlantic flight from NY to Paris. Seats are cramped, but it is expected."
Minusy: "Didn't appreciate the additional charge to select basic seats (not upgraded), not sure if justfly.com is affiliated with Kayak. I found it absurd but read reviews that if you don't select seats you might get bumped off your flight if it's oversold. I didn't take any chances so I paid the additional $29 and yet both my fiancee and I sat way apart. Arriving at the airport to check in, I saw options to select seats which made me upset even though there was nothing next to each other but way more options than online."

Plusy: "Very relaxing, enjoyable flight. Entertainment was great with many different options to choose from (music, tv, movie, games). The plane was not full and I had the entire row to myself, making the flight that much more comfortable. Awesome crew that was attentive and friendly. Probably one of the best flights I've ever been on. Thanks!"

Minusy: "Comfort- Plans are Old, Entertainments is Worst. BAD BAD BAD."

Minusy: "Trying to get through airport security was an unorganized clown show with them herding groups of passengers back and forth between airport terminals resulting in many people almost missing their flights because the lines just weren't moving. Once on the airplane, the international flight had TVs in the ceiling in the row playing one in-flight movie (what is this 1995?). American is such a terrible airline. The old US airways, Lufthansa, and British Airways, are way better international flights every time I've flown with them. Personal entertainment at your seat for each flight (i thought this was standard on all international flights in the past like 10 years) and more food and drinks throughout the flight."

Minusy: "Short and sweet"

Plusy: "The seats, staff, entertainment, particularly liked that you served hot chocolate! The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful."
Minusy: "Food -vegan menu was bad for n the outgoing flight, better on the incoming flight. No vegan food available on domestic fight. Sitting in the aisle seat meant often people pushing past your seat."

Plusy: "The crew was OK, but nothing special."
Minusy: "Air France should not sell tickets for which the connection flights are almost impossible to catch. My luggage was not transferred to my connecting flight. I had to run to catch the flight to Bucharest. At CDC there were only two custom officers for checking passport of EU citizens, on a Saturday morning with hundreds and hundreds incoming travelers. On top of it, one female officer was rude. Typical french :("

Minusy: "Plane was canceled at the last minute with a transfer desk literally assaulted by 100s of people. Only 3 persons on the desk. No lane for sky priority. Queued for nearly two hours before some airport employee gave us instructions to travel by train without any other information or tickets etc. Had to buy my ticket. Couldn’t recuperate my suitcase. Had to wait for it the next day for three hours. Up to this hour I don’t know how I am going to be reimbursed (train and plane)."
