The food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that I could have wine with dinner or any time the attendants offered beveragess. The attendants were always professional and helpful. They all were fluent in English as well as several other languages. It was a nice touch when the attendant wore white gloves when he or she was collecting passengers' trash after meals and/or beverage service. I loved the cheese that was served at dinner. The warm croissants served at breakfast were a very nice touch."

THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR THIS KIND OF FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY."

Minusy: "Being FORCED to spend extra money simply to be able to reserve the last row of two seats, in the faint hope of being able to achieve some level of comfort which was unattainable on the first flight. Having only two seats in our row and the one in front of us made the flight tolerable, but also enhanced the ludicrous ineptitude of the previous flight, wherein we were treated like so much livestock in a train car, heading for slaughter. It’s simply called Halal otherwise then everyone else’s meals should be called Christian or Jewish meals etc. Also I requested help with transfer to my last flight which was horrendous because I’m one adult with 4 kids ages 1 to 11 and my eldest has sever learning disability. I nearly missed my flight because our flight landed late and I was struggling to keep my kids safe and together while running for the next flight. Somone should have been there to help with transfer."

I've had it actually happened to me before on British Airways flights too couple of times. So it's not too big of a deal. I just wish that pasta tasted better)))"

Instead, rush to airport, pay more by having to pay in person. 2. I also could NOT get my boarding pass online. Instead, forced to drive to airport day before just to be sure I'd be on plane! Finnair counter, Hannele politely double-checked all's well, handed me boarding pass. Hannele told to buy extra baggage online being cheaper. This promise, not accurate. Absurd!"

Minusy: "We had to buy 2 new tickets with Lufthansa in may because finnair cancelled the tickets we bought months ago : the difference of tickets pride was 780$ per tickets to totally we lost over 1,500$ This is not fair at all - they should not propose tickets at such prices and let us think for months our trip is fine because we have to buy last minute new tickets at very expensive prices"

Plusy: "I'm so happy to be able to travel with my small dog in cabin. I've travelled from Miami to Helsinki and back with a dog at least 30 times in the last 16 years. The service has always been very good. I choose the airline always based on what's best for my dog."

Plusy: "The Airbus 330 is an improvement over the Boeing 737 that took me to Europe (via Milan) on this trip. Unlike that flight, this plane is equipped with an updated on demand entertainment system. I attribute the upgraded airplane to the fact that this was a direct flight from HEL to JFK. Still no wifi though... Their magazine says it's coming. Upgrading to Economy Comfort is worth the fee especially if you get a bulkhead seat. Otherwise you are still pretty crammed in with maybe 6" more leg room. But the bulkhead seats are set well back from the wall to give my long legs plenty of room to stretch and get in and out of my seat. My friends in Economy looked miserable :( The chili con carne with rice was an improvement over other airline meals but still room for improvement - mostly in presentation I guess. Lingonberry 'salad' though a bit sour for me, was a nice Finnish dish to sample. Like the cheese and crackers. Departed and arrived on time. Liked the flight tracking that showed you very detailed what you were passing over and even gave us a bit of info and photos about highlights of each region flown over. Nice touch."
Minusy: "This plane was such an improvement over the "bucket" that flew me to Europe that it has restored my faith in Finnair as a valid carrier for my yearly trip to Europe - like I said, probably because it is a direct flight to New York rather than connecting to another European (not Scandanavian) city like Milan. I would probably not use Finnair to access other parts of Europe for this reason. (On the departure end, the regional Finnair flight from Milan to Helsinki was also sub-standard.) I do think the check-in procedure is still cumbersome - self check in with bag check, though started at kiosks, still results in a long line just to hand off your bag to a counter agent. A few more agents would likely solve that problem... But it was better than going the other way - JFK was a nightmare! Helsinki only slightly better."

Plusy: "AA fly to/from Charlotte and if you are lucky you'll get a local NC crew, southern drawl included. The A330's are nice, even without Prem Economy the seating space is decent on the former USAir metal."
Minusy: "The USB charge points do not work. Plus, the touch screens for the IFE require a lot of hard tapping on the screen, annoying for the people in the seat on which back the screen is placed."

Plusy: "We ended up being on a BA flight which was fine. Ok service, check in from London much better than USA. In flight entertainment good."
Minusy: "Nonchalant crew on the way back, I asked if they had any snacks half way into the flight as I didn't eat dinner, I went to the galley and the head of customer service heard my request, looked at me and just carried on reading his paper leaving a flight attendant to offer me a small bag of pretzels , which she had to search for. Very poor"

Plusy: "It was a British Airways flight, plane was large, and felt more roomy than what I'm used to. The service was impeccable."

Minusy: "The crew at Barcelona Airport, especially "Javier" (he refused to give his last name or show his badge - he had it turned around) was very rude and unhelpful. We had to go to another desk person to help us who was a bit more polite. The Finnair Customer Service telephone service was completely unhelpful even though this was booked as a Finnair Flight. The crew on board was ok, at best. The food was the poorest we had in both flights we took (we travelled from Barcelona to JFK, New York, and from JFK to YVR, Vancouver). We were most pleased with our flight from New York to Vancouver, with Cathay Pacific, who, by comparison, had very helpful and pleasant staff both at the JFK Airport and on board."

Plusy: "As always, BA did an excellent job with my evening flight from JFK to LHR. They were prompt, efficient and very helpful and although my flight was quite full, we left on time and had no issues in the air. I was very pleased with their service and especially as I paid such a low fare through Finn Air, I can't complain. This was a great option to utilise, rather than paying BA's more expensive fares. I would definitely go through this way again."

Minusy: "Lost my luggage when the other 3 people who I am traveling with got theirs. Not sure what went wrong there. No SAS personnel was available, actually there was no airline counter even. I filed a lost and found report at the airport. I will contact the airline , hope they will find my bags or at least provide vouchers for my one week vacation."

Plusy: "Two 20-something young ladies tried to figure out system, individual issues while rest of us stood and watched versus passing through loading area. In addition, delayed due to short handed baggage loading crew. Flight was one hour late departing. Luggage did not make connecting flight to London. No wifi either."

My emails weren't answered, and when I finally realized that I did have to pay - it was 85$ for one suitcase!!!!! SAS - are you out of your mind?! The suitcase cost more than the flying ticket! Sorry, but no SAS for me anymore. BAD BAD service and exploiting of customer's naivety. I'm furious."

Minusy: "We arrived at Berlin-Tegel two hours before our flight, as is generally recommended for air travel... to find that there was no one working to check us in to our flight, and no option for automated boarding passes. We had to wait for a half an hour before a desk attendant for SAS showed up to begin checking people in specifically for our flight. We were told by floor staff that desk staff usually don't even arrive until two hours before the flight they are supposed to check in. Then when they arrived we were told we had been waiting in the wrong line (priority) and had to get at the back of the regular line. There were no signs, so we had no way of knowing this. Then someone else told us one line was for if you already had your boarding pass, the other was for if you didn't: luckily we had chosen the right one, but a bunch of other people had to move again. One passenger mentioned to staff that it would really help if there were signs (there were monitors, but they were blank) but she was ignored. The line was massive and there was only one desk agent, so it took a long time. Anyway by the time we finally got through security we only had 20 minutes before boarding. I don't even know how everyone else behind us made it onto the flight, or if they did. At our gate there were literally ten seats in the waiting area. So of course everyone waiting for our flight was clustered around, standing awkwardly, and couldn't help blocking all the walkways. Then when we thought we were finally boarding the plane we just got onto a shuttle bus to go all the way across the airport to where our plane was waiting. Overall, pretty ridiculous. I have not flown out of Tegel before so I'm not sure how much of this fiasco was the airline's fault and how much was due to the airport itself. But we were very frustrated by the time we finally took off, and will probably avoid both (Tegel and SAS) in the future if at all possible."

We ended up missing our connecting flight. It was an awful experience especially being in a foreign country."
