Today, my flight was again delayed and I almost missed my layover. Again, my bag did not arrive & they ripped my carry on"

Communication was terrible. The flight was delayed due to Pakistan closing air space. Turkish rescheduled but no real help in Istanbul."

Minusy: "The crew at check-in & at boarding checked me in to fly to Tel-Aviv (transiting at Istanbul) without any comment on visa or passport at Washington D.C. In Istanbul, I was not allowed to board on the flight to Tel-Aviv. I was not allowed to stay in Istanbul. Crew (Erin Uler) who stopped me from boarding the flight said he would help, but disappeared. Othes kept sending me back and forth between transfer desk and sales desk with inconsistent advice every time. I had no way out, so decided I will fly to the closest European country. This was after I had been back and forth for 7 hours. I had to pay full for flight to Greece. I asked to be sent back to D.C. they could not even work that out. I have a return ticket to fly back to Washington D.C. with Turkish Airline on 1 Jan and they said they will need to re-ticket my paid return flight as well. Turkish airline crew did not would not help me fix my return flight back to D.C. They have asked me to contact the agent ( Kayak). Now I am stuck in Athens, a country I have never visited nor planned to. My tours & accommodation, all paid for in Israel, I have lost. I had a tour fully paid in Israel. I have no ticket to return back to D.C. even though I paid for ticket with cancellation insurance when I bought the ticket. The advice between Turkish crew who checked my passport (official) while I was flying out of D.C. vs the Turkish crew who stopped me from boarding was inconsistent. If I had been stopped in D.C. I wouldn't have had to face the events that followed. Now I have lost my tours, hotel in Israel. I had to pay extra for flight to Athens and I am paying for hotel and sundry in Athens while waiting for flight out. Turkish crew at Istanbul were not only unhelpful but rude and inconsistent. While I was waiting for 8 hours for a firm information, shouting matches between Turkish crew and customers went on at least a dozen times. Inconsistent information from Turkish staff has led me to be currently stuck in Athens. I am waiting for a way back to D.C. There should be a rule that fines an airline if they board people without accurate visa papers and they fail to check it. There should also be a fine to the airline if they stop people from boarding at a transit airport leaving passanger stranded with nowhere to go or return. I ask this issue to be looked at, as I am currently stuck in Athens. I need a ticket to go back to D.C."

Plusy: "The crew is friendly, efficient check in and boarding. Food is pretty good."
Minusy: "Turkish Air keeps their planes unbearably hot. I’ve complained before and they always say it’s “Normal” for the industry. I fly over 1000,000 a year and I’m telling you it’s not. Also, I bought an “Extra” room seat and the seat is still ridiculously small for anyone over 6 feet."

Minusy: "I didnt like this flight at all. I got delaied 2 hours at the turkish airport plus the 7 hours lay over, total 9 hours, the gate travel service didnt give us any reason for the dealy, the customes gathered us in a small area where there is no seats and the bathroom was smelling so bad, we were stsrving and not even water been served to us, i missed my ride to the hotel in Amman, and missed my work breakfast orientation."

Minusy: "The seats in business class were not suitable for sleeping even though I paid top dollar and it was a 4:45am flight. They let a random person on the plane and had to do a full security sweep before taking off."

Plusy: "But my movie stopped for 30 minutes right at the good part. I saw the whole thing but didn't like the delay."

Minusy: "In both 10 hour trips to and from US to Turkey my seats were broken and didn’t recline, which made for an uncomfortable trip."

Minusy: "Late into the flight there appeared to be a medical emergency taking place just a few rows ahead of me. No announcement was made; it was as though we were expected to ignore the situation. But with the lights in the cabin turned on, a small crowd gathered, and the passenger being vocal in his distress .. . a brief announcement would have been nice: Situation under control, no need to worry, flight will continue as scheduled. The passenger had a relapse a few hours later - again no acknowledgement from the crew to reassure those of us who could hear his cries of distress."

Minusy: "I have been told at the airport that I had an unconfirmed flight and was told that I could not travel to Istanbul. I am still at my departure city, in Chicago. I bought my tickets just like anybody would, go on the website, pick the flights and pay. But someone did not do their job correctly and did not correctly confirm my flight. I paid for this incompetence by missing Christmas and a business meeting. Do not think it will never happen to you, it is just a matter of time that this kind of bad service catches up to you. The system is so disconnected or careless that it can't even figure out I couldn't take the flight which it is is asking me a review for."

Plusy: "Turkish had several flights departing close In time and they only had three agents at the check in counter, makin* the process painful at 4:30am. After on hour in line only about 10 passenger seat were checked in. By th way all the security screening procedures ran very smooth and quick, it was Turkish procesdures and man powe4 that was poor. Boarding the airplanes was chaos, both in Tel Aviv and Istanbul."
Minusy: "Very little was done to impress the passengers from check in, boarding, airplanes were old and peach between seats small."

Plusy: "I loved the food. The air hostesses were amazing and attentive. Great service! Also the colored lights in the cabin were cool."

Also I love the food, my wife and I are vegan and we requested a vegan menu in advance before the fly and the menu was delicious, fresh and healthy!! Minusy: "Connection time between arrival time from Tel Aviv to Miami was very short. We had to sprint from the transit security area, through the crowded main terminal, to gate 705 to our sole connecting flight to Miami. A bus or other form of transportation should be provided to gates that are very far away. We were the last ones to board. Private security staff at the gate prior to boarding the bus to take us to the plane confiscated my Bluetooth headphones under the assumption that they fell under TSA's prohibited electronic devices (which they do not). When on board the plane, I noticed another passenger with similar headphones which were not confiscated- selective enforcement."

Plusy: "The food was impeccable- would compete favorably against Etihad, Singapore, Cathay or Emirates Courteous crew who would be the very best with some more training in making customers feel special. Excellent business cabin"

Minusy: "Boarding in Istanbul and Tel Aviv was chaotic, no business class boarding. Checking laptop in Istanbul was inconvenient. Lounge Istanbul was awesome however way too crowded to fully take advantage of it. Also should control people and what they takfor food. The lines were long and people would literally pile their plates with massive amounts of food, take it to their seat then leave it. Fix the lockers and add more, they are a wonderful asset but I was not able to take advantage of. Consider limiting access to manage crowds."

It was very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the flight. We felt like we received first class treatment in the economy section of the plane. From warm hand towels, beautiful menus for meals and beverages available, a toiletry bag and much more. The inflight entertainment was awesome. Love the large screen and the touch screen abilities. So many great choices."
Minusy: "The temperature of the cabin changed drastically from being very hot to very cold in a short matter of time. The boarding process was also not organized well at all as we lined up in our groups, but people did not follow this so although we were group A, somehow people from lower groups were boarding before us. The seats were a bit hard."
