Minusy: "In order to board we were requested to line up at gate according to seating group. And then had to wait there in line standing for almost 45 minutes before we were finally told we could proceed to board. No reason for lining up so far ahead of time....and had to stand....."

Minusy: "I had such a miserable experience getting to Florence on Swiss Air that I sent a letter of complaint WHILE ON VACATION!! Really. It was a nightmare... not the way you want to start a vacation. I had difficulty booking my daughter's seat online for the return, but didn't have access to phone service while abroad. In my complaint letter to Swiss Air I requested they place us together. I never got a response and upon check in, they had my son and me in our purchased seats and my daughter at the back of the plane. I asked them if they could do anything about it (I was even willing to give up my seats to move to the back...) yet no one seemed concerned or interested in helping to make this work. They also had no knowledge of my complaint or appeared concerned about my prior experience. I'm so over Swiss Air. My experience with the employees on the phone prior to my first departure, the lack of response to my email, and a disinterested and inattentive staff on my return, have all convinced me to choose a different airline next time."

"Don't leave home without them," especially on Swiss Air (emphasis added) !"

Plusy: "Cornella was my flight attendant and she was amazing! Such a sweet woman. Someone give that beautiful lady a raise, extra week of vacation and a high five for me. Food was great. Drinks were plentiful. Seat was comfortable and I felt the pilots did a great job of finding the smoothest flight path."

If you don't arrange your dishes after you eat to the staff's liking --- you will get one of the worst attitudes possible which is just unacceptable. Unfortunately this attitude transfers to the airport staff in Zurich so I was not too shocked on the plane. However, they should learn a thing or two from the Lufthansa employees. They are a long way from being professional."

Minusy: "The luggage was damaged and when reported to Delta crew at IAD airport , she just said that Delta does not assume responsibility for luggages , did not even apologize. It was a small plane so we had only 1 flight steward , very sloppy grooming. Poor in flight snacks , some crappy saltines crackers . A long way from JFK from one terminal to another terminal."

Minusy: "I queued at the Virgin Atlantic departure desk only to be told I had to walk to another terminal (the farthest one away) to queue for Delta Airlines. There was no mention of this on my e-ticket. Had I been elderly or unwell I would have been very upset. Delta is really the poor relation and does not even begin to compare to the journey I had to Boston on Virgin which was fantastic. Very disappointing but I was delighted to get to Heathrow safely."

The food and drinks on board are free and they are an abundance of snacks, much more than we dreamed. The flight attendants are excellent"

The couple ignored the instructions to move seats forward during meals making it impossible to eat. They placed their luggage in the overhead compartment belonging to both rows, which wasn't a problem if they hadn't proceeded to open and close the compartment every 20 minutes. The 300 pd dad repeatedly stepped on my broken toe while reaching for his luggage, while rattling around and disturbing sleeping passengers. And, sadly the child repeatedly threw temper tantrums without any care or effort of intervention from the parents. In short, they terrorized the surrounding travellers. In contrast, my outbound flight, also had a family seated in the row directly in front. This family was the antithesis, considerate and respectful of their fellow passengers. Susan Laws"

I asked for water and she gave me something else, when I told her very nicely that I had asked her for water she began to argue with me that I hadn’t, I thought her very rude, (what happened to the customer is always right) I have been flying with Virgin for twenty years twice a year sometimes even three !!!! and never been spoken to like this from any other member of staff!!!!"

What I don't understand is why we were not able to get boarding passes and seat assignments when we did our check-in in Sydney? Why is that so hard? Also, when we were getting our boarding pass in LAX it was so confusing when it asked for checked bags. Our bags were already on a belt going to who knows where - were we supposed to check "yes"? If we had a boarding pass this would not have been an issue."

She admitted that Miles was unacceptably rude to me but there was nothing she could do to reprimend him. Completely ruined my experience of flying. Erased Delta from my options to fly."

Minusy: "After a delay of about an hour on a very full flight the gate agent asked for volunteers to check their rollaboard suitcases. The gate agents then allowed those who checked their rollaboards to board before Zone 1,which was fine. However, a bunch of people without gate check stickers on the rollaboards were also allowed to board before Zone 1, which was aggravating. There was a long delay on the tarmac, during which we had to pull back to the gate or to a maintenance area before we finally took off. When we arrived in Vegas there was no gate for us to pull into, which led to another long delay of an already long and delayed flight."

Minusy: "at last minute itinerary was changed.. instead of routing through Brisbane, was now routed through Sydney. Flight from Sydney to LAX was delayed by 4 hours, then missed flight LAX to LAS... overall long delayed arrival. Checked the route through Brisbane, and those flights we're all there, departed and landed all on-time... so wondering what the reason was for the change of the itinerary without a cause (no cancel or delayed flights through Brisbane)"

Minusy: "Delta always has 1 or maybe 2 people checking everyone in, including the baggage drop. So, EVERYONE has to wait for one person to finish checking in the first class passenger with a thousand needs. Very poor service as is their norm."

Yet kept getting elbowed by this overweight neighbor. 7. I am a single, independent person. I prefer to sit near the front. First on and settled and 1st off and gone!"

I’m not an abnormally large man - 6 feet 200 lbs - and there was no room for my legs or my shoulders in an “upgraded economy” seat. I fly weekly for work on another major airline, and only took this one in a crunch. But I am quite certain this was my last Delta flight and I’ll be advising others similarly. The service and entertainment aren’t sufficient to mask an awful seat configuration."

The gluten-free meal was bland, perhaps to be expected but as it was my first time ordering one, I wouldn't have known what to expect."
Minusy: "Worst of all was the cold, unconcerned manner of a young woman who did most of the attending the crowd of delayed passengers at the counter. I don't ask for abject deference, but she seemed unmoved by our plight and was cold bordering on unpleasant when dealing with different passengers' delay dilemmas. This young woman was American of African descent; for the record, I am as well, which made me think she just took a dislike to me, but she didn't appear to be much nicer to anyone else and just could not be bothered in the midst of the nearly three-hour delay, a major hassle for everyone including the airline. For what it's worth, her name starts with an N. (I didn't have my contacts on) Another major fail was the Lufthansa crew's assurance ahead of the flight that we would be rebooked on later flights after missing our connections. This promise was made rather breezily; clearly those making it in New York didn't have to deal with the business end of a tired, disgruntled crowd trying to cope with the fallout of missed connections. Once we got to Frankfurt, there was one lady holding a sign aloft; the sign bore the names of presumably first or business class passengers who would be shuttled to their new gates. That lady impatiently waved people from the steerage (aka economy) mob away and towards three overwhelmed Lufthansa agents helping people locate their new flights and gates. The gentleman who helped me sent me, and, I'm guessing, quite a few of my hapless fellow travellers, to gate A13 to collect my new boarding pass. Not knowing the airport at all, I followed a set of signs that took me through a monorail to an access area that - surprise! - I could not enter with my outdated boarding pass. Finally an airport official helped the group of A13-bound passengers to the Lufthansa check-in counter, where yet another Lufthansa agent disappointed in his dealing of the situation. Had I not stated that I refused to queue up or to countenance my long-suffering fellow passengers doing so, he would have had us wait in line, including one young woman about to miss a second flight. The agent at the desk was very friendly, but all in all I found the airline's responsiveness to the evolving situations of its steerage passengers (a significant chunk of its income) a great disappointment. I don't expect I'll give the airline a second chance. There's too much good service to be had from Arabian Gulf-based airlines at comparable fares."

Minusy: "Flight was rerouted to drop off sick passengers. 10 hours after being served lunch and after the sick passengers had disembarked, there was little update on the flight status and no update on passengers getting dinner. The crew did not hand out water or snacks in the duration but instead ate and drank themselves in the crew area. If you wanted to eat or drink you had to interrupt them, and specifically ask to have a glass of water. If as a flight attendant you are hungry or thirsty after not having anything for so long, it's a good assumption the other 250+ passengers are also. Very inconsiderate."

Minusy: "I didn't like the fact that in Frankfurt the connection flight was from the other side of the airport. You have to walk miles to get to the gate which can be difficult for elderly or pregnant women."

I was given a seat assignment at the gate, however I didn't like the uncertainty of not knowing wether or not I would be boarding until the last minute."
