"Lack of information re baggage delays on arrival. I know the airline cannot control the weather but it was chaos in the arrivals area. I waited for 3+ hours with limited information only to be told our bags were still on the plane and to come back in the morning. Seriously? It’s an hours drive each way if I’m lucky, not to mention I have to work tomorrow. Not happy."

Minusy: "To start, I had paid extra to upgrade to a seat with more leg room only to find I had been reassigned to the back of the plane. This was after I had already done an online check-in for the appropriate seat. Then I was told by the AA agent at the desk that my upgrade was in the system but that it was “fake”. Apparently the money I paid two months before was no good on this flight. I was traveling with my boyfriend and they would not allow us at the same counter because we were not married. After much haggling we were finally able to rectify the situation. Horrible start. Then, once on the plane, the in- flight entertainment system as well as the lights broke right before take off so there was nothing to watch or see for an almost 8 hour flight."
Minusy: "The spacing between rows, the aisle and size of seats were terrible. I will go back flying British Airways and Lufthansa!!!!!"
Plusy: "Flight was delayed 3hrs, no fault of the flight crew or airline but incredibly annoying. amd the person next to me reeked of onions and I couldn’t shake the smell for the entire flight."

Minusy: "We waited 1 hr or more for our baggage to arrive at baggage claim and no one from AA told us anything until about 50 minutes into our wait that there was a weather delay so baggage crew couldn't work in the conditions. When we landed, the weather was fine so no one knew! Many people missed connections or had to run through the airport by time they got their bags. Better communication would have been easy to do to keep us informed."

Plusy: "The flight was as advertised. Nothing particularly special other than reliable which was just fine with us."
Minusy: "I am very disappointed that I was not sitting with my family. We did not pay to upgrade our seats and allowed AA to choose our seats. I am very surprised that they would not take families traveling together into consideration, especially when we booked all at the same time and far in advance. At the very least sit two together. My daughter sat between two straight, and was very uncomfortable. It made her ill. I will not fly long flights with American again."

Plusy: "Although we were delayed a bit, the ride was smooth and we caught up some. Great service. Being a domestic flight, it was surprising that the crew kept serving water and other drinks. Since it was the last 5 .5 hours after a 8.5 hour across the Atlantic, this was much appreciated."

Minusy: "We were forced to check our Uppababy Vista stroller at EWR departures that we hoped to check at the gate. Needless to say this made it difficult to get our toddler through security. At baggage claim only half our stroller was there - they had disconnected the seat from the wheels. Luckily we spotted what looked like a similar frame to ours at the gate when we landed. It then took another forty minutes for the baggage claim office person to go through security, to the arrival gate and back to baggage claim."
Minusy: "You pay extra to get the TSA Full background check, so you can breeze through TSA, with PreCheck, yet this Airline has a problem with recognizing it. 3 phone calls layer and a Visit to their Costumer Serice Desk, and none of them can figure it out. Uhg again."
Plusy: "What did you like? The crew was extremely polite and greeted us when we entered the cabin. Willing to assist us if we needed assistance. they got us seated straight away, and we were off, they brought the beverage cart out straight away, offered us a snack of pretzels and a drink. it was pretty quiet on the flight a lot of tired people who just came from an international flight and just wanting to get home. both flights were on time. I haven't one bad thing to say about American Airlines"

I've had screens in front of me for hour long flights. Left 30 minutes late with no indication as to why. Just one of the most uncomfortable flights I've had in a long time."

Plusy: "On time start and finish. All but one of the crew were pleasant. One was a bit imperious and seeming overwtought."
Minusy: "The 9 hour international leg of our flight was very, very uncomfortable. I'm 6'2", not a freak, and my legs were jammed against the seat frame in front on this new dreamliner Legroom AND seat width both markedly less than the short haul Airbus on our fist leg. To get one of the last 'extra room' seats would have been 179.00...rediculous. This was abuse."

Are flight from Boise sucked we we're 4 to 5 hours late due to the gas contamination in Boise and we weren't informed until a hour + after from the time our flight was suppose to go out. We weren't very happy. They new the night prior, so we could have came to the airport 3 hours later and been just fine. Which also made us miss the connecting flight"

Minusy: "I felt that having to pay $50 extra for a seat when I checked in was pretty deceptive and unethical. I think most people would agree that when they purchase a boarding pass, it is assumed that it includes a seat. Having to pay extra for a seat was something I did not plan for and it was out of my budget, but I had no choice, because I had to get home somehow! I'll be going without groceries this week due to this unplanned expense."

Minusy: "The counter manager at PHX, Lanell Monarrez was a total witch and whispering to Lanya in front of me was very unprofessional. I paid a full fare 1-way ticket to get out of PHX as they were not willing to allow me to fly standby or make a change to my existing ticket. Crappy airline service at the counter. Good flight crew."
