Well, I didn’t like much. The staff didn’t have any beverages except for coffee and water and they never came by. The food just sucked. There was no entertainment at all.

Plusy: "The crew was very polite and very helpful. Boarding process was smooth and easy, however, the Singapore airport has security checks at every gate prior to boarding. This meant that after clearing this security process at the gate, bathrooms were not available until after boarding the flight and drinking water stations were not easily found in the secure boarding area. The aircraft was comfortable, menus were distributed early so that meal options could be made with full information in advance. The food was good and made available at routine intervals."
Minusy: "On a 14 hour flight, staying well hydrated is very critical and difficult. It would have been nice for the crew to make more frequent trips through the cabin to offer just water refills to keep passengers hydrated and reduce plastic cup usage."

Minusy: "Ran out of options for dinner and could not eat the macaroni cheese they had on offer, so got 2 small packets of nuts instead...international flight running out of food options? Pretty slack. A part of the interior wall fell off onto my foot upon take off and I had to hold it in place for a while until a hostess came....doesn’t give you the best feeling when the plane starts breaking on take off. One of the male stewards was appalling towards a young mum I sat next too...too the extent of giving her dirty looks because she spilled a bit of water on the seat and then told her she had to pack everything away she was using, including the baby wipes! I stepped in and told him how this was not ok and all other staff members were helpful and he was making this Mum upset. He should not be working for such a people friendly reputable airline! Maybe Jetstar instead! Was appalled at the entire flight to be honest!"

Upon hearing that the seat was broken, the airline crew offered my mother a check for 100 SGD (14% of the ticket value) to be used on Singapore airlines (for the discomfort caused for over 50% of the flight time). They changed her seat from Seoul to Singapore. When I wrote to them about it, they came back saying they had offered her a seat change from LA to Singapore, and she had declined, which is absolutely false. When I called that out, they said, maybe they did not offer aisle seats (note that the broken seat was not aisle). So it just shows that they don't want to accept that they messed up. They even told me that despite their best efforts in pre-flight checks, certain defects only surface when the flight is in progress. Will never ever travel on this airline again."

After I had finished off my meal and ready to go to sleep, someone was bringing my drink out and I then respectfully say no to it as it was bit late after the meal and asked for water instead and did not like the look on the face of the crew member. I saw it happening with other passengers as well and was under the impression, the whole crew performance was pretty poor and SIA was not up to its high-standards as I always like to fly with them. I will look for different option next time"

Minusy: "Writing on behalf of my wife. All staff that she met have sour face, perhaps to signal the passengers not to approach them? True enough, the cabin crew did not help her to place her bag in the luggage compartment; the cabin crew did not serve water when requested, and on second attempt, the cabin crew told her to request at the ground. The cabin crews she has encountered clearly expressed their unwillingness to serve with their face and action. Is this the new direction of Singaore Air? The entertainment system requires installation of an app, hence is practically useless since we do not have the app preinstalled in our device."

But since the first leg is always getting in and you have to bus to the terminal, transit time is about 30 mins. Luckily I learnt how to fast forward, but the sexism of this left me disturbed. so although in reality much of your service is excellent, this advertising of a sexist world view was too disturbing to ignore. I hope my comments are helpful to you in considering that many women in the world now expect their fathers to consider passing on a fair share of their resources to their daughters as well."

Kiamaria even got text of address in WY where 2 suitcases should have gone. All 4 suitcases were sent to NJ and arrived at 9pm. more phone calls. this time Rachel helped with fedex labels unfortunately more problems as fedex said no barcode and we had to go to fedex office and finally they took care of it so many hours wasted, not to mention the anxiety and frustratioon How are you going to reimburse all this ????"

We paid for a hotel for the night (we should have landed at 1am) and instead landed at 7am, so we had to completely skip our hotel and had no sleep for the wedding the next day. We’re out of $120 for the hotel we already paid for and the staff gave us no help in form of compensation."

By contrast to larger airports it is not at all clear where to go once you are in the departures area - fine if you are familiar with the airport, but confusing if not. I discovered I should make my way through secondary security into the departure gate area via a small unsigned door. There followed a good deal of confusion among the passengers as to where we should be waiting, and whether the flight was on time or not. Another area which could be improved, but not by the airline, is the listing of departure gates for connecting flights in Dubai. There are so many flights cycling on limited screen space, so you have only a few seconds to locate your flight, from around 90 or so, before having to wait for the cycle to repeat."

Flight from Dusseldorf to Zurich, then Zurich to Los Angeles. in Dusseldorf, SWISS oversold the plane by 25 passengers. It was unbelievable, SWISS was randomly determining who would not fly and miss their other connecting flights in Zurich. It was by shear luck that we were able to keep our original reservation. SWISS needs to realize that this type of problem is serious. I can't imagine every flying SWISS again."

Minusy: "While I was on line to board, a flight assistant came to me and asked me if I was flying by myself. When I said yes. they upgraded me to business class. I boarded the plane and took my seat. Shortly before taking off, another flight attendant came to me, told me they made a mistake, and sent me back to my original economy seat (while I was holding my new business boarding pass that they gave me). When I told them they should remedy somehow their mistake, they said they did not have any other extra seat in business and that there was nothing they could do. They did not apologize. They were quite unprofessional and rude. I fly often and I have never experienced something so unprofessional and rude. Alitalia is far better than Swissair in terms of professionalism and of politeness. I will always discourage anyone from flying Swissair. Worst company ever."

And the seats are incredibly narrow. When the person in front of me had their seat reclining I had even less room. Horrible. The only reason the flight from Zurich to Boston wasn't quite as bad was because I was able to get the seat by the exit aisle with extra legroom. The food was terrible. It didn't taste like real food. It looked and tasted totally artificial. Overall, a very poor experience."

The online website also did not allow us to rebook. When we got to Brisbane, the only flight remaining for us was a flight 2hours later with connection. Also, the phone jack was so poor that half of the time you couldn’t hear the movie."

Minusy: "My family of 4 were not seated together even though all four tickets were purchased together in the same booking. After booking through KAYAK for flights, the on-line check-in process was a nightmare with the KAYAK booking number not matching the information required by QANTAS. As my children were all spread over the plane, and two son's look very similar, a hostess almost did not serve one of my son's a meal as she believed my son had already received a meal further forward in the plane. Thankfully, upon checking, the hostess realised that it was a case of mistaken identity."

I called and they said I had to sort it out when we arrived at the airport and they'd leave a note for staff. But when we got to the airport we were told they couldn't do anything because they can't move assigned seats even if the person hadn't checked in yet. Thankfully they managed to find us new seats at the gate. The gate was a bit ridiculous. It was at the far end of the airport and we had to take a decent bus ride to get to the plane. Once we all piled out of the buses, they still were t ready to board so we all had to wait in a line. The plane ended up leaving about an hour and a half late due to the location of the gate and the slow boarding process. Also, we checked in online but there was no expedient bag drop line for people already checked in, so we had to wait in a very long line to drop off our bags."

Minusy: "First, the flight was delayed an hour and a half. No gate was announced until just before boarding. Afraid of missing my flight, I didn't doze even though I had been awake for 20 hours at this point. Once I got on the plane, the seats were so small in economy my hips were pressed against the arm rests and I am not a large person. The man next to me was pressing through over to my side. We both had difficulty opening the tray for meals because they were in the arm rests (not that it mattered, we were never served good). The controls for the entertainment and lights were in the arm rests as well and there was no way to see them because your thighs were pressed against them. The screen for my entertainment was crooked and flickered. The charging port did not work for my cell phone. The earphone jack had to be wiggled and wiggled and then I had to hold my leg perfectly still not to bump it. I eventually gave up trying to use the entertainment screen. I preordered my meal online, but waiting for dinner, already exhausted, I dozed off. I didn't get dinner and no one came around the rest of the trip and offered any refreshments. No water, no snack, nothing. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure I saw a crew member for the rest of the flight."

Plusy: "The Singapore Qantas lounge is well set up, despite one or two small issues. Boarding was easy after the usual Singapore gate lounge procedures. On board the crew (led by Brigita) could not have been better. I LOVE the 1 -2 - 1 business configuration. Meals and refreshments on board were just great and I enjoyed that the crew didn't disturb me (Emirates are particularly rude in this regard) when it was clear I was sleeping until descent."
Minusy: "Qantas, being an Australian airline, I am clueless as to why, in the airline lounge: Australian Sauvignon Blancs are not available (NZ phewee!) Bundaberg Rum (Ozzie icon) is not available. For a major hub, it is also not clear why a separate business lounge doesn't operate."

The ground crew couldn't have been nicer in expediting my boarding and getting me on the flight. I can't thank them enough. Top service. Thank you. The flight still arrived 25 min early after great snack and smooth flight."
