Minusy: "The aircraft seemed to be really old. The entertainment system on the seat I was allotted did not work, and I had to change seats. In the new seat, the entertainment system worked, but the seat didn't recline, and I had to change seats again - from an initially allotted aisle seat, to a middle seat. Also, the food service time was weird - we got a full lunch about an hour before we landed, which didn't make sense, and had to wait almost 5 - 6 hours between brunch and our next meal - a movie snack. Most passengers were famished by the time the lunch was served. Also, why was there no wifi?"

No where in the world has an airline ever asked me for this, and I fly a fair bit. Since I didn't allow them to extort me, they forced me to throw away my brand new Delsey hand carry at the airport. I had no cover as they threatened to if load my luggage and not let me fly home. Not a 5 start airline from any angle. Will never use Qatar again!!! This was my first and last flight with them."

Minusy: "I have flown previously with Qatar and was not so impressed. Everything was great this trip up until my return to the United States. I should have suspected a problem when I was requested to change seat in order to assist a family who were in separate seats. Moving was difficult as the plane was being loaded. I managed to get to the seat offered to find someone sitting in it. To top it off the individual was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a large immigration bag. I requested a seat forward but I was denied and I later saw other passengers moved forward to seats that I was denied. If I had known that the flight would have been full of possibility sick immigrants I would have chosen another flight or airline. At certain times the smells were very bad. I felt as a ff member I should have been treated better or been made aware of possible health risks."

Minusy: "The seating room is poor for someone who is 6'2" tall. My wife had issues with her ankles swelling. When we tried to get a cold compress to put on them we never received it. We also asked for some fruit instead of the pizza snack and didn't receive it either. I know you don't have much control over passengers, but we had a two year old child in our seating area and it screamed and cried virtually the entire 14 hour flight. Very annoying."

Minusy: "Boarding process seems standard - always takes a long time to board and disembark. Older planes have screens with poor touchscreen responsiveness and poor resolution. I was surprised to see that the short-haul flights had better screens than the long-haul flights. I was on a 3 1/2 hour flight each way from Dubai/Delhi with beautiful screens but the long-haul each way from Dubai/Seattle had the crappy screens."

What is really good is in-flight entertaintement system. But you don't pay for a business class to watch movies, right?"

Minusy: "Spaces for seats in the economy class are shrinking. With Swiss Air, seems more so as the seats recline quite a bit which is of course good for an 8-9 hours flight. However if the passenger in front of you reclines their seats, you absolutely are forced to recline yours immediately, otherwise no one will fit. Flight attendants have to ask passengers to put the seats back from reclining during meal service so people can open the food tray and are able to access it, that is how much the seats tilt."

Plusy: "Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They were all multi-lingual and ready to help foreign travelers. The food was good. The plain wasn’t overstuffed with people - actually there were enough open seats that everyone could have a little extra space. Will always check Swiss Air first for international travel."

Minusy: "the teminal 4 sevice at JFK: the huge line before the security looked like a complete misorder and for no reason lingest lined I ever saw in airports instead of spliting the crowd in shorted lines to every security crew without maku=ing people to pass long lines with the hand luggage and children, it was really and absolutelu=y far from any comfort."

There is not a chance that I will ever again book an international flight on Swiss. I hope you share this with the airline."

Not a common occurrence of late, I’m afraid, so I congratulate Swiss one getting this one right."
Minusy: "Legroom is non-existent. This was by far the most uncomfortable aircraft I have ever flown on, with the possible exception of an Ilyushin 62 operated by Tarom in 1983. I felt bad for the man in front of me, with my knees in his back. That is, until he reclined his seat and put my video screen in my face. Not much to watch anyway, but it was impossible to lean forward at all. Boarding at JFK was rather chaotic."

Minusy: "the landing was way too drastic. The pressure during landing was not gentle and I had a real hard time trying to allow my hearing to come back. The blood pressure in my head felt like my head would explode. My head hurt for a long time. Did not like the flight at all."

Plusy: "Swiss has the most cheerful crews I've seen, and their enthusiasm is infectious which makes it easier to tolerate being cramped in a plane for hours. Also, I love that they give you a Swiss chocolate at the en of the flight."

Minusy: "While I was on line to board, a flight assistant came to me and asked me if I was flying by myself. When I said yes. they upgraded me to business class. I boarded the plane and took my seat. Shortly before taking off, another flight attendant came to me, told me they made a mistake, and sent me back to my original economy seat (while I was holding my new business boarding pass that they gave me). When I told them they should remedy somehow their mistake, they said they did not have any other extra seat in business and that there was nothing they could do. They did not apologize. They were quite unprofessional and rude. I fly often and I have never experienced something so unprofessional and rude. Alitalia is far better than Swissair in terms of professionalism and of politeness. I will always discourage anyone from flying Swissair. Worst company ever."

Plusy: "Tons of movies, excellent food, clean planes, friendly crew. Flying was a pleasure."
Minusy: "Checking in is very inefficient at JFK. There was only one (super slow) teller checking all of economy, while three people checked in business class. There were no automated check-in kiosks. you can imagine the chaos. Unfriendly tellers too. On the way back I was selected for a strip search when I checked in at the gate. So was my husband, but he wasn't told of this until he Was boarding and his ticket beeped on scanning. There was no room for our carry on, because we boarded so late. Annoying."

Minusy: "Waiting in line in NYC for take off was about 50 minutes. Small seat space with annoying passengers who watch movies all night with bright screens or push and press my seat all the time. Earplug is uncomfortable, breakfast is plain, hot chocolate is horrible. It was a full flight and we even lost my daughter's cardigan."

Minusy: "1stly the lady at the check in was not nice [ i should have gotten her name -] she was rude and quite 'authoritarian' which is uncalled for- when you have paid an expensive ticket are just trying to check in. then I checked an extra bag - and could not pay where i checked in. i had to go to another counter to pay - there was a line and it took a good few extra minutes - and i still had to get thru security. if you can pay at the check in counter this would avoid this extra step. i was really not happy about it swiss air needs better efficiency and better customer service"

Minusy: "Swiss staff was not helpful at all at Zurich airport. I wanted to purchase a day pass in the Business class lounge. They said i could do that but need to do it online. When I couldn't get my device to bring up the right screen they said they couldn't help me. Bad customerbaervixe"

Minusy: "If you put the seats this close together, with the amount of recline. Once one person on the fligh reclines their seat it forces everyone else to do so. You can't eat if the person in front of you reclines!"

Minusy: "As a person of color I didn't feel that I received the same warm welcome from some of the attendants. For example the expression on their faces were blank when I said hello. I picked up my food tray and gave it to the attendants very politely. She just took it out of my hand. When the passenger next to me did the same she said thank you very politely. He was Caucasian. Some were very friendly and polite."

Minusy: "I could notice The crew was really attentive and took good Care of passengers Who speak german or were from Swizertland, meanwhile with The rest of The passengers they were not really nice at all."

Minusy: "1) Assigned seat but was allowed to change seat 24 hours before online check in but at baggage drop off at airport, I was shocked that Swiss Air did not abide to our selected seats changed and gave us the initial seat assigned. 2) At airport check in, none of the ground crew able to gave us good explanation or assistance. 3) Enterainment has to reboot twice. Audio selection cannot be play. No USB port for charging phone."

Plusy: "The boarding process was efficient. Swiss Air provides much more spacious and comfortable seating arrangements than many other airlines."
Minusy: "My entertainment system would not turn off, which made it difficult for me to fall asleep. I asked a flight attendant for help and she said she would reset it. However, the reset did not work and she never came back to verify whether or not it had solved the situation. I finally gave up and put a blanket over the screen. Furthermore, the meal service was very slow. It seemed as if most of the staff was very young and likely inexperienced. Perhaps it would be better to mix younger, less experienced staff with more seasoned staff. I flew three other Swiss flights during my European vacation and the service was much faster. Incidentally, most of the staff on these other flights were older and probably more experienced."

Plusy: "I like that Coke Zero was available."
Minusy: "My chair was stuck in the fully reclined position for a good portion of the flight and my wife's chair was constantly being knocked into by the passenger behind her because his seat was too short for him. When the seat in front of me was reclined, the screen was only a few inches from my face. There was a loud, obnoxious passenger next to me who almost got into a fistfight with another passenger until the stewardess came to calm him down."

Minusy: "There is little that can be done to make a long haul flight comfortable when a baby is screaming and crying for it's entire duration. Its behaviour cannot be helped. But it certainly didn't make the flight comfortable, nor did the young child kicking incessantly at the back of my and my daughter's seats. This could have occurred on any flight, but it didn't contribute to having a positive experience on this one. The flight attendant serving breakfast completely ignored that fact that I was awake and strolled past without asking if I would like anything as meals were being served. I informed another flight attendant that we hadn't been offered breakfast and she was able to provide us with meals. Besides this the cabin crew were courteous and pleasant. I've flown with Swiss on other occasions and have had better experiences. I'd like to think this was just a one off and not representative of the level of service that Swiss normally provides."

Minusy: "once again, the delta crew does not maintain their planes properly. during the taxi stage to get to the airway to lift off, there was a horrendous growling sound coming from the plane............seems like their hydraulic system is not maintained very well at all and it made a howling sound throughout the plane all the way to take off! we were wondering if there was something wrong with the plane."

There not enough room in the box for me to explain my experience but the ticket agent lied to me, said he couldn't take my bag until I got a paper receipt and boarding pass from a kiosk despite having had pre-paid for my bag and digital boarding pass. 25 mins wasted"

After looking again, we were put on a much better route through Detroit. I did not have a seat on the second leg and was stressed that I could get bumped. I made the flight but was given a middle seat. Since I have clostrophobia I began to panic. My brother sacrificed his exit row seat for me. He had booked through Delta. I wondered if he got better treatment because of that"

Plusy: "The crew on the airplane was great. We had 2.5 hours turbulences but the crew started to give out drinks as soon they got the ok from the pilot"
Minusy: "We went in LGA to the Baggage drop off and the employee there was super rude. On the flight to New York with Delta we had to check our carry ons at the gate because it wasn't enough room for bags in the airplane.so we asked when we checked our one suitcase if we can/should check our carry ons to avoid having to do it at the gate. The delta employee told me sure no problem. He checks in my one suitcase I purchased gives me the tracking paper and says ok have a good flight. I asked him so what is with our carry ons and he told us that that would cost 25$ and we can't check those in at the drop off?!?We ended up taking the carry ons with to the gate and then off course there wasn't enough room on the airplane that we had to check it in. And surprise it was free?? We had never issues with Lufthansa, icelandair etc. with checking our bags at drop off to not needing to carry it around and than still end up to check it at the airplane. Every airline has been more than happy that we volunteer to check our bags that they don't have the trouble at the gate."

Minusy: "flights all on Delta - about one a week for 3 months straight - and yet when Delta cancelled my flight and re-booked they did not give me any upgrade or loyalty as I saw it - I had paid extra for Delta Comfort and they told me the flight they re-booked me on simply did not have any comfort available. However, I was not the one canceling the flight and re-booking - that is their problem and after so much loyalty for years I feel like I should have gotten some kind of upgrade for free...If I have to cancel - I have to pay fees - but if they cancel - I lose ...despite being a very loyal SkyMiles customer. I am quite disillusioned with Delta now and will have to look around to see what other airlines there are now - and my entire family - and what kind of loyalty they give to their loyal customers. It needs to be a two-way"

Plusy: "The last time we flew Delta, we were underwhelmed. Our flight was delayed several hours and there was nothing exceptional about it when it did finally leave. That was 5 years ago, and there's been a lot of changes. There I'd now in-flight entertainment, reasonably comfortable seats, and everything was on time."
Minusy: "Virtually no food options."

Plusy: "Although we ended up being stuck on the plane for 2 hours prior to take off due to high volume, weather and as the pilot put it, "possible military activity" the crew kept us informed every step of the way. There was one flight attendant in particular who was so full of energy and made the unfortunate circumstances not so bad. She entertained us and kept us in the loop the entire time as did the pilots. It made the 2 hours not feel so bad which was appreciated."
Minusy: "That we were delayed on the plane for two hours on a small plane but I know it was out of their control."

Plusy: "There were many delays and cancellations due to bad thunderstorms at LGA. Despite a few hours delayed (because the airport was closed due to the storm), the flight was still schedule to leave! I was very happy about that. They did issue waivers for those who could not make the later time. Once delta got the ok to fly.. The flight left the gate very fast and we arrived and exited the plane super fast too. The process was so efficient and quick, I did not feel the waiting period. The flight attendance were so happy and positive, they made he flight very enjoyable. Great job delta!"

Minusy: "Crew arrived late from Buffalo (?!?!) so our 7:59 flight didn’t start boarding until very close to that time. That delay, as Delta well knows, dominoed into LGA’s ATC issues and resulted in an arrival at DCA well after our scheduled arrival."

Minusy: "The flight left three hours late while the crew was waiting for an oxygen tank to arrive. We were boarded onto the plane after it was nearly an hour and a half late, then waited in out cramped seats for another hour and a half as we continued to wait for the same piece of equipment. At one point a Delta employee announced over the plane's PA system that we'd be getting vouchers to compensate us for this absurd delay, but there was no explanation of how to claim those vouchers."

Minusy: "No meal service in first class."

Minusy: "I understand gate changes happen, but I got 4 texts switching the gates back and forth. Is that necessary?"

Plusy: "The crew were professional and courteous"
Minusy: "The fight was delayed multiple times, starting at a 5:44 takeoff and finally taking off around 9:15. It was delayed in 30 min increments, which made it hard to do anything else around the airport since I was constantly in a state of "about to board." A frustrating experience. No posts of extra snacks while waiting, or compensation or explanation of what caused the delay."

Plusy: "Staff was really nice and helpfull"

Minusy: "Due to weather patterns, we sat on the runway for 3 hours waiting to take off. There was approx. 50+ planes ahead of us. I know this because I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot on his way home. About 2 hours in, there was 30 planes left to take off, and then us. They air traffic control people were only letting off one plane per minute which is what was holding us. THEN after the 3 hours on the runway, our crew timed out and the brought us back to gate saying we were not taking off. At the gate, they informed us the flight was not 'cancelled' but 'delayed' to the following morning. I/m not sure how a 16 hour difference is considered 'delayed', but I digress. All Delta reps had NO idea the time of the new flight the following morning and told us all to just 'keep checking the app'. Now, fortunately for me I live in Brooklyn and could just go home. But what about everyone who was at LGA as a layover? I heard from multiple passengers they had to spend the night in a hotel, that Delta did not pay for. We finally got notice the new flight was scheduled for 9:30AM, which they AGAIN delayed until 11:30AM. Many people did not get the second change, and were already at LGA for the 9:30AM flight. To say Delta's handling of this was poor is an understatement. We knew when we got on that plane the crew was going to time out. Again, I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot who told me to 'get comfy, we're gonna be here awhile' the minute I sat down. Delta should have given us a fresh crew, or had a backup one prepared. I understand the weather is out of there control, and I understand you can't have a tired crew piloting an airplane, but there are other ways to have us take off remotely on schedule."

Plusy: "For a short-haul flight on a small CRJ, it was the most pleasing and comfortable flight. No delays and everyone was pleasant from ground staff to flight crew."

Minusy: "Delta doesn't manage their flight schedules and personnel with backup or standby crew in order to assist whenever there are delays across domestic flights. The plane was late to arrive at the gate and we were also told that while the pilot was ready to take off, we couldn't leave because we were waiting for a flight attendant to land from Pittsburgh (we were in La Guardia airport in NYC). delta would rather I convenience the flyer instead of hiring more personnel or figuring out standby or backup plans for delayed flights."

Plusy: "This is how my trip started that day. Missed my checkin window by 10 mins do to waiting in traffic for 45 mins, because of wreck. Got to the ticket counter at 8:35 and my flight my was set to take of at 9:30. There wear others in the same boat as me, we where all flying with American. I will Never ever fly with American again! The Lady was so rude then she said we were disgrutle when we ask to speak to a manger about trying to board even though or flight didnt leave until 9:30. Not Military Friendly at all. So I ran down to Lufthansa and talk with a guy at the ticket counter that was understanding of the sistuation, he told me what to do once a Book my trip through Kayak he checked me in and got me right to the front and on the plane for the next flight that left 2 hours after my missed flight. I book my trip and got through Tsa all before my flight with american even took off. When I boared the plane the cabin crew was very helpful and laughing and joking with the passagners their smiles brighten my day and made me feel at easy. I was stressed out about missing my flight with American Airlines and that lady at the ticket counter that when on got my flight with Lufthanse I felt like they were my friends and that I have been flying with them before. I will always use Lufthansa when fliying back home back to the states! Thank you to flight crew and men and women at the ticket counters!!"
Minusy: "If I could change one thing it would be better food, or the drink protion size or just give out canned drinks. But over all the best flight I have taken in a long time!!"

Lufthansa very little space for check in & luggage at Charles de Gaule and staff advised me to arrive at 4am for 7:45am departure so I could stand in line to get boarding pass and deposit luggage. I did so. Wait was not too long. Security was fast by comparison."
