"Amazing flight and amazing crew"

They were making jokes and never once did i see them frown at any demand made by any passenger. The food was very good despite being plane food too!"

Minusy: "Frankfurt Airport check lines too long. Only half of security checking stations opened. Hundreds waiting in line and the lines moved too slow. After passing the long lines of security checks, you come to passport checking stations. only 1 out of 3 available stations is manned. Again, lines too long and barely moving. Probably many missed their flights while waiting to go through passport checks. We lost almost 2 hours between security and passport checks. Airport personnel were unfriendly, they did show any care towards the hundreds that are herded like sheep in long lines. They could have eased this backlog of people by manning all their available stations but they did not. Will try not to go through this airport in the future."

Minusy: "Due to the reason that the flight was overbookef LH asked us to drop off our hand luggages as well, however both were approved for the cabine. For this reason I had to buy padlocks. The problem was, that even if we were asked for favor we had to wait for baggage drop off at boarding for one hour."

Flight departed late, but pilot made up all tge lost time in flight. Crew was professional, very polite and efficient."

Minusy: "Bought these tickets almost a year in advance. Never given the option to select seats. Both my husband and I were stuck in the middle seats or not together on each leg of our flight. Food was horrible on every leg. Husbands tv did not work. I am petite and seats too small even for me. never again will o give this airline my money."

Minusy: "Besides the seat relative comfort, it did not recline much at all, i wondered what the extra money (at least $5 or $600) got us. The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

Minusy: "I did not enjoy the turbulence, which I suppose is unavoidable. More importantly, I felt quite guilty about the greenhouse gas emissions of my flight. I have decided to cut down on my air travel as much as possible as a way of reducing my carbon footprint."

No rushing was needed though, the flight was delayed for 1:30h and after we all boarded a further delay was announced. I will never fly with KLM."

Minusy: "The entire HUGE MESS from booking til sitting on our last airplane. The “new reservation” system is a horrible joke. The right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing so you get completely wrong info and they won’t do anything about it. I’m a wheelchair assist and had to call 6 times to remind them to put it on my ticket even though each time I was shown that it had been added. They kept seating on the back row of the plain and blamed me for not calling ahead to “let them know I was wheelchair assist so they could reseat me” BUT...they won’t answer you call unless it’s 24 before your flight and then to check at the airport who then tells us it’s out fault cause we didn’t call more then 36 hrs ahead...YOU CANT CALL THAT FAR AHEAD...and ...get this “they don’t have wheelchair assist on my ticket/file”. I about lost my mind over the hours on hold and every different answer as to what what to do and in the end blamed us. ASTONISHING TO ME. THEN THEY HAVE THE NERVE ON-BOARD TO ANNOUNCE THEY ARE THE BEST AIRLINE IN NORTH AMERICA 2019...HORSE PUCKY!!!"

The second plane was so late, by the time I landed in Toronto, I had 10 minutes. Needless to say, after starting out in Kamloops at 6 am, that was missed also. Last leg missed as well, and had to wait another 4 hours for the last flight out. Just an incredibly frustrating trip"

Minusy: "It was crowded in the back of the aircraft. Many vacant rows were available, but my advance check in and seat change / upgrade was not available on line. I would have paid to have moved up to an un-occupied section of the aircraft if I could have. My mistake. I should have got up and walked around looking for these vacant seats. Despite the captain announcing that WIFI Internet was available for purchase. There was no WIFI on this aircraft. I am a tech guy. The flight attendant said just use your credit card. NO there was no WIFI available."

Minusy: "Cancelled one flight, then delayed another one because they were waiting for a pilot. They offered very little help, citing that they couldn’t control the weather, meanwhile WestJet is finding & paying for rooms, shuttle buses and taxis to make the delay more tolerable and less stressful. We could only watch and wish we were flying WestJet."

Minusy: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"

Plusy: "I was reading so much about how cramped and uncomfortable the seats on Air Canadas 787's, but I don't think their product is any worse than most other economy class products out there."
Minusy: "Their "continental breakfast" was a dry piece of banana bread and yoghurt. No jam, butter cheese or other spreads to compliment with your bread. Most disappointing "continental breakfast" I have had on a plane!"

Minusy: "We were already running late when during take off, one of the engines malfunctioned and we had to emergency break on the runway and go back to the gate. Because it was unexpected, we had to wait even longer for a gate to become available. We then had to re go through customs and get our bags then wait in line again at the counter to schedule our flight for the next day. Thankfully we were given a hotel room and money for food. Very scary experience overall on the runway, but they tried to handle it as smoothly as possible under the unusual circumstances."

Minusy: "The prop aircraft that Air Canada uses for the YYC-YEG route are old and cramped. They do nothing for the Air Canada brand."

Plusy: "I didn't like anything."
Minusy: "I was stuck in immigration for about an hour. The screening process at this airport is so laborious. You have to wait on a bench until they call your name and they don't care if your flight is about to be boarding. I understand that immigration is necessary but they could at least have people form a queue instead of having us wait for our names to be called. I told them that my flight would be boarding in 25 minutes and they told me "Oh, don't worry, they'll just put you on the next flight". But when I got to my airline to check in, they charged me $150. I needed that $150 to pay some bills when I got back home."

Minusy: "Flight was late leaving, the boarding process was messed up and could not understand the person doing the announcements (was speaking too fast)..."

Minusy: "Delayed by 2 hours, half and hour in the airport and another 1.5 hours on the tarmac (probably why I got sick just days after, sitting in the germ tube for that long) Seat did not recline, but was supposed to... No pretzels or peanuts offered like other airlines, just drinks Missed my connecting flight in LAX because of delay, but not after running frantically to my gate clear on the other side of LAX, customer service offered nothing to compensate for the flight we had just missed or any solutions for getting us home."

Minusy: "They got in late to lax. Made no apparent effort to get us on alternative airlines or flights. I was rebooked on a flight 24 hours out No help finding hotels, meals or even terminal. It was a codeshare with united but neither would united help in any way because it was booked through air Canada."

Minusy: "People had a lot of bags, and their zone boarding concept means I got on last and little to no room for my one average carry on..."

Minusy: "Air Canada was one hour late leaving the gate. This in fact was a great improvement as when we left Montreal on Dec.21 they were 4 hours late and in the best of xmas cheer didn't even offer us a free drink. Way to go AC."

Minusy: "The flight came in 20 minutes late, and managed to leave 1 hour late -- I've never before seen a flight become even MORE late because of the boarding agent. There was no communication whatsoever. There was only one agent working the gate. When it was time for passengers who needed help boarding, he took them back one at a time, leaving the gate completely unstaffed. When he came back, he strolled like there was no urgency whatsoever. Every other airline I'm on tries to speed up boarding if the plane is already late. I was amazed that they didn't even add a second agent to the gate."

Minusy: "they made us rush through customs while yellig at us nd being very condescending then we waited an hour to board because the airport door wouldn't open for the crew"

Plusy: "The seats were comfortable and the crew was friendly. We were re-booked onto another flight by the time we de-planed, which took some stress away."
Minusy: "The entertainment selection needs more variety. The food choices were just okay. The flight was delayed and we missed our connection. Also, our friend received a food voucher for the delay while we did not. Boarding can be a little chaotic."

Plusy: "Quick easy flight"
Minusy: "Asked flight attendant to fill up sons water bottle as we had to empty it before we went through security and I forgot to refill it. Flight attendant was very rude and made a big deal out of having to fill it. Just felt her reaction was over board and quite uncalled for."

Plusy: "This flight ended up arriving at the final destination a day later instead of first thing in morning last thing at night."

Minusy: "29f is marked as a window seat, it is not. It's an emergency exit. No outlets were provided so I had nowhere to charge my phone. My on flight entertainment system was stuck in the out away position. I was very sick and the emergency exit had a terrible draft upon landing"

Minusy: "Too many people with more than two bags. You have to force more people to put there bags in the plane storage not overhead. Two many carry-on bags and people had back packs with another bag, some computer bags. It takes too long to board the plan"

Minusy: "I had to pay for the food for my 4hr flight. It use to be that you were provided the food at no additional cost."

Plusy: "I liked the fact that I did not have to pick up me luggage for my connection flight & I have priority sitting and receiving luggage at NYC"
Minusy: "You let too many people on with multiple bags and it is a struggle to get them stored in the overhead compartments."

Plusy: "Linda the Air Canada check in Agent at the Priority desk in Calgary was the best Check in Agent I have ever dealt with in over 20 years of business travel. I was with my family and she even made a special effort with my two Granddaughters that they are still talking about today. She is the reason Air Canada still has ALL of my business every year"

Plusy: "They had a wheelchair accessible for me and delivered me to my waiting party."

Plusy: "Great valve"
Minusy: "Delay in boarding by about 20 minutes. Had to stand in line for about 1 hour because we were not allowed in the terminal seating area until the previous plane's passengers disembarked."

Minusy: "Flight from Calgary to Denver delayed three and half hours. Informed of this delay thirty minutes before scheduled departure when our plane hadn’t even left Denver yet to head to Calgary. ( 2.5 hr flight) once finally made it to Denver was informed that we missed connecting flight to Boston. We were then informed since it’s for “weather” reasons earlier in the day that caused a sequence of delays they couldn’t accommodate us for hotel. We were given two “blankets” which were as thin as a sheet and each one bottle of water. Some other people around us received good voucherS. We did not. We walked around the airport for close to an hour looking for anyplace we could lay down and sleep. None were to be found. We tried to sleep on the floor but was so cold and uncomfortable I literally got sick to my stomach. Another fun thing added to mix. We were placed on another flight as 6 the next morning. After no sleeping at all we boarded our next flight Which was not a direct flight to Boston but would be from Denver to Newark then Newark to Boston. We were suppose to originally land in Boston at 0600 Monday. Instead we arrived at 1430 after getting zero sleep. My husband and I were also unable to sit together which was extra special for people around me because after not sleeping I continued to be sick to my stomach."

Minusy: "The seats are sooooo cramped and uncomfortable."

Plusy: "It was a bit less expensive at first, but the charges added up quickly. My only complaint really is that the booking was through Air Canada and the flight was operated through United Airlines. It wasn’t a problem for me but if you only have a Visa debit card and want to pay for checked bags online, this is not possible to do online prior to checking in. You also can’t check in to your flight as you would normally, you get the last available seats and have to pay for any seat changes. All in all, I’d still book through Kayak but I’d make sure that the flight I booked was through the company that operates the flights. It’s will give you more options when checking in to the flight."
Minusy: "I was put through a third party airline that had no control of the final booking procedure that I was used to. I could not choose seats or add checked luggage on my visa debit, I needed a credit card. This wasn’t a problem but it could pose problems for some people."

Minusy: "Crew wasn’t that helpful."

Minusy: "There was no in-flight entertainment option on this leg of my journey, which makes a four-hour flight seem long."

Minusy: "We were not informed about the cause of the delay without asking at the departure desk and other carrier planes flew to San Francisco while our flight continued to be delayed. The posted time also was erratic both at the airport and on the app for the people meeting us. Luckily our time was flexible so though frustrating and inconvenient we managed OK."

Plusy: "The crew were very professional ad seemed to be having a good time. Flight was on time. The passenger compartment smelled ok. it was tolerable"
Minusy: "The seats were new on an old plane. They were very firm and really thin compared to older designs. I suspect it allows them a new extra rows. It was tight and I am not big. Cows in a shipping tube? Almost. Also it was noisy, so bring those ear plugs and noise canceling earphones."

Plusy: "They left my luggage in Calgary. I still don't know what flight they're returning it on it has to go to SF and then Fresno. Make sure you have a tag number for your luggage!!!"

Minusy: "It would have been great if a movie was provided."

Plusy: "This was the worst and most stressful trip of my life. Heard of Murphy's law? Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. And did go wrong again. And again. It wasn't my fault or the people's fault, but an unfortunate chain of circumstances. And United personnel helped me deal with so many challenges and went above and beyond their duty. On the trip to Calgary my flights were delayed, I was denied boarding or the flight was canceled. It took me 3 days to get to my destination and this happened after I arrived 4 hours in advance for every flight, but the first one. I did everything I could in my power, but my best was not good enough. And so when my rental car broke down two hours before my departure, and I failed to start it, I took a cab to YYC and hoped for the best. And United didn't disappoint. They listened to me, respected me and tried to help me as much as they could. My leg cramped and I was not able to cross the hallway to the flight, just as the boarding was starting. The board agents called the wheelchair, walked over to me and tried to calm me down, just as they were wrapping up boarding. They then checked my luggage and held me by the hand all the way to the airplane,"
Minusy: "Once again, the agents did the best they could given a set of highly unusual circumstances. Yet the flight was one hour late for a very predictable reason. In the winter it snows in Calgary. You have to de-ice the plane. This takes time. Yet, the airline treated snow as emergency and didn't allow time for that. One hour delay stressed a lot of people out and canceled their plans. Do allow for more time for travel in the winter. It is cost effective and leaves customers happier."

Minusy: "Typical American passengers ignoring crews request to NOT place coats and small items in overhead bin. I had to have a "discussion" with passenger to please put coat under front seat. I don't know how crew could be more assertive with this item"

Plusy: "Nothing about 9 HOURS in an Airport is great! I walked from where I landed coming from Calgary, to terminal 2 Gate F 17 because that was where the flight to Lexington was to leave from. Then I got notice it was leaving from terminal 1 Gate B 24 so (I'm sure I walked a mile there) to get there. Waited for a number of hours checked my phone and found the departure was back again at terminal 1 Gate F 17!?!?! So I walked another mile back to where I started. At no point was I offered a drink or meal voucher for the 9 hour delay/inconvenience in my flight to Lexington ky. Suffice to say that I will NEVER go on any flight if I have to go back through this airport. I also have horrible knees, which all the walking did not help."
Minusy: "I would like to say that as a person with a disability, there is not any support for help getting around. They have plenty of for lack of a better term "golf carts"; but no one utilizing them. Not that I am a world traveler; but this airport could take more than a page from Calgary international in terms of support to those with disabilities. I will NEVER and I do mean NEVER go through something like this again. I expected to be home in Lexington at 5:00pm and did NOT arrive until midnight.??!! This is in my opinion quite unacceptable! What a way to spend a hard earned vacation day! Thanks Luanne Steele"

Minusy: "We were at the counter 57 min before flight. They would not consider letting us on the flight even though no one else was in line. My father had a heart attack and i was trying to get home. Zero bending the rules."

Plusy: "I was upgraded to 1st class"
Minusy: "I was not able to check in on the day before. Flight was delayed because flights in and out of SFO had ceased. We we not given any other information. We didn't know if it was weather in the airport was on lockdown. No one was at the customer service desk. The gate agent said they would not rebook but did not know when the flights would resume"

Minusy: "I had to take a different flight to make my destination on the same day. I landed 6.5 hours later thanks my original flight."

Plusy: "Nothing"
Minusy: "The fact that my wife and I were not able to check in at kiosk is a technology problem, and then we waited in line forever as United tried to deal with other large group of problem customers. Because if their bad service we missed cutoff, even though I had already checked In and we had no checked bags. We We were forced to pay for hotel our of our pocket, get another rental car, and change itinerary to have to go through Denver to get back to Chicago and arrive a full day later, causing havoc with work schedule and coverage for kids. Thumbs down United! I used to be 1K with you, this Is why I don't fly this airline often."

Plusy: "Personnel were friendly and cooperative."
Minusy: "Process for customs was not well explained (where/how to meet up with bags for customs process). We went through customs on the second leg of the flight with barely enough time to get through customs and then back through security at the Calgary airport. Our flight had been unilaterally changed by the airline due to too tight a connection but the new flight (much less convenient, had to get up at 3:00 am) was as bad or worse. We would have missed our connecting flight if it had not been delayed due to weather at our destination."

Minusy: "Flying at the back of the plane is just not as nice of a trip."
