Plusy: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Minusy: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

They refused to accommodate me for a 19 hour layover with a complimentary airport hotel stay, claiming there was an earlier flight--that was still 12 hours away, that I would have to pay to book anyway. Pure scam to get you to pay to upgrade your flight, pay for hotel or be condemned to stay in there airport for a whole day. Never ever again! Don't fly them!"

Seats are way too close together for a long haul...person's tray in front of me was in my face the entire trip and she didn't bother inclining throughout so had to eat my meals like a contortionist. Cramming more seats into a finite space seems to be what all airlines are doing these days. This of us whom are above average in height are forced to insure a more painful and uncomfortable flight as a result."

The food was good, but the portion was small and it feels limited. But overall it was amazing experience considering i got a really good price for this flight! Thank you, Qatar."

Minusy: "1. Food - It was not that great, especially if you are allergic to cold. It applies to asthmatic patients like me. You have very limited choices. The only hot item in my whole tray was "chicken mixed rice". Everything else from yoghurt to fruits went waste. Can we have HOT FOODS for people like me? 2. Flight Attendants - It seemed that the flight attendants were not so experienced at handling customers. Plus, several of them had poor English. That would have been okay if they had patience to listen to me slowly. But, they seemed to be in hurry and not wait enough to understand my request properly. I was asking HOT WATER and they were repeatedly handing me COLD WATER. Plus, they could see me breathing heavily and feeling great discomfort. Nobody asked me 'ARE YOU OKAY?". It seemed, they didn't care for customers like me. I found a serious lack of CUSTOMER RESPONSIVENESS, forget PRO-ACTIVENESS among several flight attendants. Finally, I found an example of SNOBBERY in the plane. A flight attendant was asking a couple sitting next to me to fill up the FEEDBACK FORM. They looked like from Middle East but were British citizens. They didn't talk to me even though I volunteered at frist to introduce myself. The lady was especially rude to me. They were dressed like high class folks. That's it. They neither represented the hundreds of passengers, especially Indians, in the Economy Cabin, nor were they friendly to fellow passengers. It left me with a feeling that Qatar Airways attendants were judging a book by cover and asking the wrong persons to fill the form who didn't really represent their majority customers for that cabin."

REALLY WELL I I'LL TAKE MY MONEY AWAY THEN I will make Co viols decision to never fly with u"

For those of us gluten-sensitive, watching our glucose levels, or salt intake there’s nothing. A 40 minute gate change from B29 to A11 in PHX was barely long enough to walk far less find and buy a healthy meal. Yet again I arose at 4am and had nothing to eat until after 4pm. ALL the airlines can do better."

Minusy: "I have been flying for over 40 years and this American flight is the worst SNAFU I have ever experienced. Rerouted for refuling 30+ minute waits for gates to open, 1+ hour waits for takeoff. Not all of it was weather related. Even the flight attendant is disgusted."

Plusy: "They were rude, unhelpful and I will NEVER travel with them again. In fact I canceled my ticket entirely and booked with another airline at the airport."

The gentleman that helped us was lovely but system issues kept us at check in a very long time and unfortunately that together with the crazy insanely long distance to our gate- then only to take a bus- we did not have time to pick up any food or make any stops which we counted on and had arrived 2.5 hours ahead of time to check in to allow for."

Plusy: "The gate agents did a good job of making sure the boarding process was organized, despite confusion with two Chicago-bound flights departing from the same gate in a short window. Delay was communicated far enough in advance that I didn't travel to the airport until it was necessary."
Minusy: "The flight was delayed 3 hours due to the incoming aircraft, but nobody at the gate or onboard offered any explanation or even acknowledged the delay. The aircraft did not handle turbulence well at all... one of roughest flights in recent memory despite avoiding weather. Wifi had weak signal (on a 70-person jet!) and the streaming entertainment did not work the entire time... it either did not load or I got an error message."

There is no more entertainment unless provided by yourself. Even the free wifi is bullshit! I was given a warm beer! First class is not worth the money."

Minusy: "The Washington airport is horrible. The gate we left from was not a gate but a series of doors that buses came to. This wouldn't be so bad if they were able to handle it in an orderly way, but the airport showed complete incompetence in organizing anything and there were people everywhere trying to find the right door which kept changing on them, and the times kept changing...it was a mess. Then, when we finally got on the plane and were about to take off, the air traffic control tower called and said that their flight path was incorrect and to not take off...but didn't give them a new flight path for nearly two hours as we sat on the runway. Nationalize the airports in DC, fire the whole lot and start fresh, I'd say."

Minusy: "Overall the flight was great. I was carrying a suit in a hanging bag and asked the flight attendant in first class if there was a place I could hang it. She politely offered to hang it behind the last row of first class since none were in use. When getting off the plane, I grabbed my bag as I walked off and the other flight attendant said "you can't put your bag there, it isn't for you" to which I replied that I was told I could use the hanger. She then said "well you shouldn't have been given permission, and don't do it again, it isn't for you." The tone was a bit rude, and maybe the consistency should be reviewed."
