The entire team is very helpful

My connected flight from Warsaw was late. We have to run to the gate in Istanbul. Our bags did not arrive to Boston with us. Three days later we still do not have them.

Staff was courteous and helpful and I had access to the information I needed

Turkish Airline is absolutely terrible!

Minusy: "Every staff person we had contact with made us feel as though we were not a priority in any way. We were constantly given misinformation. Our flight was two hours out when it was returned to our departure city due to a passenger health issue. It was not properly explained to us and we were in no way compensated for the inconvenience. Once back at our departure city (Miami) we sat there for an hour or more. They chose to feed us during that delay. Due to this we missed our connecting flight in Istanbul to Rome. This also caused us to miss our transportation from Rome to Compania, Italy. We were told by airline staff on the plane that we would be put up in a hotel over night. When we arrived at the terminal we had no idea where we should go or who we should see. Every representative we spoke to told us to go somewhere else. Truth is it felt like no one we spoke to knew what to tell us or really cared at all. One representative told us we were not entitled to overnight accommodations. We insisted we were told we were and it literally took hours on the ground to straighten the problem out and get to a hotel. By then it was so late that we only got a couple hours of sleep and had to be back at the airport for our next flight. The second flight from Istanbul to Naples, Italy was better. I do not think I would use this airline again. My entire party got an overall sense that people were untrained and lacking in any form of customer service. Not the flight attendants but all the people we had to deal with on the ground. My age plus health issues and walking problems made everything more difficult. We were sent al over the massive airlines terminal with all our carry on luggage only to find when we got to where we were going we had been sent to the wrong place. On top of all this each of us had to pay a VISA fee to get out of the terminal and to the hotel. Just a total nightmare. Prior to taking this flight I contacted Turkish Airlines and spoke to a customer service person and explained that I needed to take with me a small portable oxygen concentrator that I would need to use while in Italy. I needed to know the procedure for bringing that equipment on the airline. I was told that although he could not answer that question He would pass it on to his supervisors and I would receive an answer via email prior to my flight. I never received a response and as a result did not have my needed oxygen while abroad."

I bought my tickets just like anybody would, go on the website, pick the flights and pay. But someone did not do their job correctly and did not correctly confirm my flight. I paid for this incompetence by missing Christmas and a business meeting. Do not think it will never happen to you, it is just a matter of time that this kind of bad service catches up to you. The system is so disconnected or careless that it can't even figure out I couldn't take the flight which it is is asking me a review for."

Minusy: "I've flown Turkish a few times before, and they're generally pretty good for the price. This trip was different. Despite Turkish Airlines policies outlined in their "Customer Rights," I received no notification that the flight was delayed 3 hours, and there was no notification at the JoBurg airport until you go to the counter to check in. JoBurg staff - which are Menzies third-party contractors, not Turkish staff - were disorganized, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. Only one person at the check in desk seemed to have authorization to make any changes, so all other agents were running back and forth to speak with him, and not communicating with passengers. It took over an hour to get clarity on the situation and rebook my connecting flight to Washington for a different flight 8 hours later. The only compensation offered was one meal voucher worth R100 (roughly $7). They would not even look at other Star Alliance flights for early arrival in Washington, and said they were not authorized to consider upgrading my ticket. When I called the Turkish customer service, they essentially said "What do you want us to do about it? You have to submit a formal complaint." Boarding was totally disorganized. In theory there are boarding groups, but after business class and all the high-ranking loyalty members, it's pretty much a mad rush. This seems to be the common practice for Turkish now. In general, Turkish has a great entertainment system on all their long-haul flights, with tons of movies - including very new releases - music, games, etc. They also provide complimentary kits with socks, slippers, eye mask, earplugs and dental kit, even for economy passengers. The meals are fairly good for airlines. However, legroom in economy isn't great. I'm 6'1", and had difficulty getting comfortable with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me. On this particular flight, I was in row 18. The cabin crew were frantic, disorganized, and shouting to each other across passengers. One half of our row was served the meal, and the other half had to wait over 30 minutes to be served for some reason. By that time the vegetarian option was no longer available. Crew also had to run back and forth between service carts because they were frequently out of very common beverages (like sparkling water. And ice.), and on two occasions crew left a drawer from a cart full of trash sitting in the aisle. There were several times that crew ran carts into passengers - including once into my knee that was not in the aisle - and didn't even acknowledge doing so. They also stopped the carts in front of occupied lavatories, temporarily trapping passengers. So not terribly professional. While not specifically on this flight, the experience in Istanbul airport with Turkish Airlines' staff was awful. Zero interest in helping, rude and dismissive, and overall terrible."
Plusy: "Unfortunately for Turkish A. the plane was less than 1/3 full...tourism to and from Turkey seems to be way down for a number of reasons. That made it spacious coupled with a relaxed pace of passengers and crew. The lunch served was quite tasty and satisfying. No hassles about carryons weight or size. Electronics aboard seemed to work fine for those interested."

Our last few flights (on a variety of airlines including AA) had honestly been disappointing. The negative experiences making me wonder if I should stop flying altogether and start to vacationing closer to home and just drive everywhere. Happily my flights from San Antonio to Miami and back have given me hope that flying is finally getting better, almost enjoyable. The AA luggage and flight check in went smoothly. AA flights were on time, gate changes were updated quickly to the app and text messages sent. I was very pleased with the American Airlines experience this trip.

Not paying for internet after spending almost $300 on a one way ticket! GTFOH! Flight entertainment should be free with all the price gouging airlines do!

The American Airlines employees were mostly inconsiderate, with the exception of two staff members. Not sure about this airline again."
Minusy: "I was forced to check my carry-on bag because it was too big according to the gate agent. I travel weekly, always carry-on my luggage and I have never been told it needed to be checked. AA had a ticket counter agent that was on a mission because she had a roll away cart parked by the jet way door to collect all the luggage she wouldn't allow on the plane. Very customer unfriendly!"
Plusy: "The estimated time for both my flight was over an hr, but we arrived in on my first flight at 45mins and my second flight 30mins."

Both terminals terrible after several experiences in last couple months. SAT worst pickup experience that I see national and international travel. Obvious that cabs and air port police are the worst congestion problem I experience."

So we decided to book a hotel for the night through Kayak and paid over $200. Went to the hotel and were told there were no more rooms available until the next day. We called kayak customer support and they wouldn't refund our money!! Horrible experience never again! Never flying Air Canada again !!"

I liked my Lufthansa flight to Europe but for the sheer reason having to return with Air Canada I will avoid booking this flight .Thank You."

Even tho there was ample time to get there since it was the next door gate, I was in a wheelchair and if it had been any further, it could've been a disaster. We arrived right on time. I'd go Air Canada again."
Minusy: "Air canada canceled the direct flight from Calgary to LA as I booked. The replaced flight is indirect one via veccover. I end up needed get up in dark driving from lake Louise to Calgary to catch the flight and got home after 13 hours in total. The reason of the calculation was no enough customer and there was no compensation being offered."

Minusy: "Six years ago we flew Air Canada from Athens to LAX with no seat back screens. We thought they were in the process of updating. Here we are six years later and still no seat back screens on an 11 hour flight. What are they thinking? Food and service were also very mediocre. Will not fly Air Canada again."

You shouldn't charge people that don't have the devices to use one that you have on board. Also, making your entertainment app only available to apple customers and not android seems very unfair."

The plane was very dirty - trash in between the seat 4. The food was the worst I ever tried on the plane 5. I was very surprised at the very disappointing service. I must say, with all the travel I do, apart from 1 young lade, the flight attendants acted like they loathed being there. It is so disappointing especially b/c I am Canadian so it is a bit embarrassing that Air Canada seems to have such terrible service. 6. The flight attendants were out of a lot of things, I heard them mention several beverages they were out of throughout the flight. I also heard them say that there will be no hot beverages while seatbelt sign is on (which it was a lot). I guess that is reasonable, however, it is the first time I have encountered that on the place. Instead they directed to passengers to come up to the back of the plane to get a hot beverage when the seatbelt sign was off. I did a few times - 1st time they said they were out of cups and to stop by later. But 2nd time had the cups. Did these cups get magically delivered midair or perhaps maybe they just needed to bring cups from the storage on the place and could have given me an option to wait while they retrieve them. 2nd time when I stopped by to try to get a hot beverage, a lady with black hair just gave me an empty cup. The whole experience with this flight was confusing - some attendants seemed not to understand fully what passengers were asking."

Minusy: "All the flight attendants seemed a bit frazzled; I felt guilty for asking for wine with lunch, and you had to either use your own device or pay $10 to access the in-flight entertainment. Even then, I could only watch TV shows on my laptop --you need an app to see movies. Very strange and felt like being in a domestic flight."
Plusy: "The cabin crew was friendly and very attentive, since they realized the passengers couldn't get any peace or comfort due to the screaming child problem."
Minusy: "Nine hour flight from Warsaw to Toronto, 7 hours of on and off ear-piercing screaming two year old child. Even though it was a daytime flight, most passengers wanted to sleep due to early morning wake up and previous connections. Even for somebody who wished to stay awake, there was nothing pleasurable about this situation. The airlines are going to have to figure out how to deal with this ever-increasing problem on long-distance flights, like a closed door quiet space for the parent and child. It was like being trapped in a torture chamber. If an adult had created that much commotion and misery on a flight, they would have been forcefully subdued and probably arrested. A few minutes of a crying baby can be excused, but this was non-stop disturbance by an unruly child and complacent parent(s)."
Minusy: "No entertainment unless you rented one of their iPads"
Plusy: "The crew is top notch. The plane was in great condition, the pilots had good landings. Would definitely fly Air Canada again. Both flights there and back departed on time, never had any set backs."
Minusy: "The movie selection is so limited, this should definitely be expanded. Also the controls while you're watching a film do not allow for quick return to main menu, maybe there is but it should be quite obvious how to do that. I'm not someone who cannot handle technology, so it should be easier than whatever mechanism there is at the moment. Good should be included."

Plusy: "Air Canada New York flight from Toronto delayed for 2.5 hours in a 1..5 hour flight. They suppose to serve drinks for about 200 passengers in a very short time, because they cut the service from 4-6 crews to only two,so they only able to serve one third of the passengers and ready to descend. Nice planning to save $$$."

Minusy: "The system at the Toronto Pearson airport is loco--crazy design, have to move from one line to the other, no idea where to go. The system is so disorganized that you have to keep asking employees what to do and it seems to change as you go from one line to the other. It's not hard to design good lineups. Have good sineage in many places and have one line for one purpose, not many lines in different places for the same purpose that change with the whims of the staff. I'll be attempting to fly with other airlines next time as this airport system is just too much."

Minusy: "We did have a 30 minute delay, not a big deal but a delay none the less. And boarding was a bit of a mess as announcements were hard to hear."

Plusy: "The cabin attendents were excellent. They were courteous, patient, friendly, helpful, professional. When we were waiting for take off for two hours, they did everything they could to make the situation less awful. I would travel Air Canada again just because of the cabin attendants."
Minusy: "I can't say I enjoyed waiting on the tarmac for two hours because of what reportedly turns out to have been a data entry mistake, and I would have liked different movies in the onboard entertainment selection."
