Minusy: "Flight was 3 hours delayed due to technical problems. Then it was moved up 40 min without enough time to have someone get back for boarding. Barely made the flight."

When I asked to help us get seats together flight attendants told us that I should ask passengers if they could switch seats. Apparently Lufthansa staff doesn’t ask passengers to do it."

As we were concerned for our daughters health, we asked the flight attendants if we could lmove to the bulkhead that was open at the front of the plane. They wanted to charge us $500 EACH to move, even though the seats were open. One of the flight attendants even commented how terrible it was for our baby to have a row of sick people behind us, yet they refused to move us. Fast forward, our daughter ended up getting sick during our trip to Florence, and now my husband is sick. As such, we’ve had to miss out on things during our vacation. It would not have been difficult to move us to empty seats in the front of the plane, so we could use the bassinet we paid for. This small gesture would have made our flight and our trip much better."

Minusy: "Most uncomfortable flight I can remember in last couple years. My knees were squeezed into the seat in front, and when they reclined, the seat was like 1.5 cellphone lengths from my face. The particular route from SD to Toronto squeezes 15 more seats on this popular plane, making it the least knee room I can remember. I wouldnt say Air Canada has less legroom as a generalization, but this route and plane assigned has the least. I guess if you're taller, do a little research on the planes for your routes. No actual wi-fi was kind of annoying. You can access some content, but no real internet connection."

Plusy: "We were eventually given meal vouchers. We also ended up staying an extra night on their coin since we had to miss our connecting flight.We were treated fairly but slowly. We would have had an eight hour transit in Vancouver but with the new flights there was one hour connection. With the replacement flight also late our luggage did not make it and we were not informed until we reached Australia."
Minusy: "There were little babies and young children waiting with their parents to board this flight. Would have liked more consideration for them but the little ones all behaved so well! Updates were slow and then we had to pick up our luggage and wait in an area where there were no seats so we had to sit on the hard floor (or stand) for a long time."

Minusy: "Felt like a budget flight. We've flown air Canada in the past and this flight seemed like their low end fleet"

Yeah, you can pay extra for an ipad or to get food, but for most decent flights these days you get at least something to eat for free. Especially on a 7 hour flight from US to CAN. My knees nearly touched the seat in front of me. It wasn't that small of a plane, i just think they really wanted to pack us in. If they removed a row or two and gave everyone just an inch more space how much would that REALLY set them back?"

Plusy: "No delay. The plane came half an hour early which is ok. There was no complimentary food but drinks were offered. It would have been nice if peanuts/cookies/chips were offered. There was no entertainment so the rating was 1star. Emails were sent to inform us of changes in schedule and also to check in on line. Leg room is good as we can stretch our legs (I guess you can say that we are not that tall) we wish to travel again with Air Canada in the future."

Plusy: "The experience on the flight from san diego to Toronto was excellent from curb side there all the way to baggage claim in Toronto. The service by ground staff on both sides was excellent, The staff on board was helpful, efficient and very polite. In flight Entertainment was good too, unlike on the way to San Diego when the choice was so limited it was not worth my time to use it."

Minusy: "Connecting flights to/from the US are a challenge. Both times (coming and going) were significantly delayed, causing me to miss my outbound flight. While AirCanada did rebook, I ended up in a ridiculous process of having to claim my suitcase (even though it had been checked all the way to my final destination and I never intended to stay in Canada) which involved dealing with non- communicative staff who slowly located the bag, got me an escort into the baggage terminal and then send me through customers even though I was just trying to get the bag on the flight they rebooked me on. Whole process took 2.5 hours. My shuttle was late for my inbound trip and when I tried to check in (which was just slightly less than an hour before departure) they took my passport and just stood there. No communication about what was happening. Luckily, after about 10 minutes they did check me in but kind of unnerving not to know what was happening. Wish the staff were more available and more communicative."

Minusy: "9 hours + flight with no entertainment and HORRIBLE food (it didn't even bit hunger). Not that it would make a difference, but the people on the back of the plane only had one choice of food instead of the usual chicken or pasta, for example."

Minusy: "My boyfriend and I were flying from Toronto to Salt Lake City, we didn't pay for assigned seating (because who really wants to dish out extra money for something as silly as that?) and thought that it just meant that we still had seats on the plane and they just might not be next to each other which was fine. We did online check in and having our tickets sent to our phones (his worked fine and mine never came through, yes, we triple checked to make sure my phone number and everything was correct). Both of our tickets ended up saying the seat was GTE so when we got to the terminal (two hours early) the moment an employee was behind the counter we went up to talk to them and they said that we would get a seat on the flight and that it wouldn't be a problem at all for us to sit together. Right before they start boarding an announcement is made that the flight was overbooked (by 8 people!) and they were asking if anyone would be willing to give up their seat and receive compensation (no one would). So, all 8 of us had to go up to the same snarky man who had told us that we WOULD be getting seats and have him explain to us that the next flight isn't until tomorrow and we had to go to the Air Canada customer service desk to get the flight plan figured out. We had to wait 2 hours in line just to talk to someone who tried to make Air Canada out to be the victims (how dare we not want to pay $40 for a seat and because of our frugality poor Air Canada now has to compensate us for the inconvenience AND get us new plane tickets, we should feel so bad for them because they are now losing money). We had to wait for about 40 minutes with this lady because she was either new or not competent enough to figure out how to get us new tickets with Delta (guess why Delta? because Air Canada had already overbooked the flight out for the next day too! Looks like they'll be losing some more money). Oh yeah, she also scolded my boyfriend for having his plane ticket on his phone, because it inconvienenced her. That lady finally left and we finally got help from someone who actually knows what decent customer service is (shout out to Michelle Khan at Air Canada). She was really nice and understanding and was actually able to go through the process of getting us tickets and in a timely manner. She explained that while it is a complete joke, by law flights are allowed to overbook their flights by up to 10% of seats available on the flight. We could understand overbooking by a couple, but really, 8? Never fly with Air Canada."

Minusy: "When you roll up on clerk at the check-in counter and she's already eyeing your carry-on bag you know you're gonna have a problem. My bag was purchased a month ago and I made sure it met all major airline specs so when she immediately told me I'd have to check it, I told her it would fit no problem in her little mold. She insisted that it would not and I'd have to PAY to check it. I picked it up and easily popped it into the mould but my zipper snagged on the way in and she said that I was not allowed to "force" it in. I then easily lifted it in and out twice without the zipper snagging. Then she insisted that I weigh it. 22lbs is not much at all so I figured I might get caught here but to my surprise I was only at 23lbs. So she immediately said I would have to pay because I was over weight.... BY 1 LB! So I opened my bag and took out bag of carrots and put it back on the scale. She was so pissed that she couldn't charge me anything that she never made eye contact for the rest of the process. She then said that because I had my cat with me I could not sit in the row I had booked because it was an exit row. I insisted that it was not an exit row as I had just flown on the plane four days earlier with my cat in the same seat. She refused and moved me to a row with less leg room despite my having paid for the upgraded seat (I'm 6'4"). Upon boarding, I confirmed with the flight attendant that my original row was NOT an exit row. It was behind the exit row and there are no restrictions for that. One terrible staff member is all it takes to ruin a flight. Air Canada Rouge also happens to be a soda can with wings so that doesn't help."

Minusy: "AC373 on 07/23/16 - need I say more? Having an airline background and now the HR mgr of a very large hotel chain, I understand many things that are out of a companies control, ie: weather etc, but....never have I witnessed airline staff YELLING at passengers "it's not our fault and the agents need to leave so they don't go into overtime?" Yes, some passengers were difficult, but it's part of the industry. If you can't handle w/care and service - don't choose as a profession. Very unimpressed with AC's customer service, guest recovery - they made it seem like it was more of an inconvenience for them. Can't imagine "choosing" to fly AC again!"

Minusy: "Agent off loaded me and only me from return flight with zero reason. Second flight I was put on was delayed 2 hours. Sat for 5 hours in the airport for a 1 hour domestic flight. Customer service was terrible. Emailed Air Canada 4 days ago and have yet to recover any response."

Minusy: "Seats are very small with little legroom. My husband is 6"1 and sat in a middle seat. His knees were jammed into the seat in front of him. Full flight so he could not be reseated. There is no entertainment system which was ok since it was a red eye flight. I've have flown on many local and international carriers and the space on this aircraft was amongst the smallest I've come across."

Minusy: "The flight attendants were inconsiderate of the wishes and comfort of the passengers. Food and drink were offered for sale in tourist class shortly after takeoff in the morning. Since I had just had breakfast, I asked if the food and drinks would be available later. The answer was probably not, which indeed was the case. This was on a five hour flight. When I did want food and drink, I had to go to the attendant at the back of the plane. I was able to have a drink delivered to purchase a drink, but the one food item I wanted was not in stock. (This was from the beginning, and was also the case on the outgoing flight a week earlier. I was informed that I could not use my noise cancelling headphones, designed and purchased largely for flying during takeoff and landing, but had to use ear buds, which I did not have, do not like, and as a senior with hearing aids find uncomfortable. Thus, I missed the benefit of their noise cancelling feature and much of the movie I was enjoying. On the earlier flight, one of the two toilets was unavailable, causing long waits, but the attendant in the front of the plane refused to allow me to use that toilet, which was available. When I protested, she answered the same way perpetrators of crimes against humanity did "I am just following orders." Where is the concern for the humanity of a senior citizen? Also the previous flight connections was scheduled too closely so that with security and border clearance, I was barely able to board at the last minute, thus causing a great deal of stress, no time to ear or use the toilet at the terminal, once again unhealthy stress and discomfort, no concern for the humanity of the passenger."
