Minusy: "The Soviet Union wants its airline back. This was perhaps the RUDEST airline experience I've ever experienced. I was at Frankfurt (FRA) airport waiting to board Air Moldova Flight 864 to Chisinau (KIV). Due to a delay caused by Frankfurt security (and no fault of my own), I was delayed in reaching the gate. Since it was past my boarding time, I grabbed my bags from the conveyor belt once past security without having time to repack. I arrived at the gate and the extremely rude Air Moldova gate agent on duty yelled at me and demanded that I give her my boarding pass. When I told her I needed to pack, she yelled that there was “no time for that”. When I searched for my pass, she again yelled and said “NOW!”. When I told her that it was not my fault that I arrived late since there was a delay at security, she said “Not my problem!”. After she checked my boarding pass, I tried to repack and she again yelled “There is no time. Go to the bus NOW!” I once again told her that it was not my fault I got delayed and she again yelled “NOT MY PROBLEM”. In addition to rude employees, the airline is clearly in violation of safety regulations. The safety card in the back seat pocket was written in ARMENIAN – and Armenian only, thanks to the plane having been leased and Air Moldova not appropriately changing the safety cards. How did they expect people who read Romanian or Russian (the local languages) or English to understand it! On top of that, the plane was easily 20 years old or more and dirty. If they can't even keep a plane clean or have the appropriate safety cards, what else are they not maintaining. Do not fly this terrible airline!"

New custom: serve coffee AFTER breakfast 5. Nobody walked around with water or juice between the meals - you had to wake your neighbor since climbing over someone is no longer possible [either] 6. If you have 2 beverages on your tray and your neighbor needs to get out, you need a third person to assist (impossible to get out of your seat with 2 beverages in your hands (we tried it!) - just too narrow (even for a European Teenager) 7. It was not clearly visible who boards where. An Economy couple standing patiently in line at the Wong boarding line was sent back to the end of the long economy line - although NOBODY was in the business line"

Poor communication to the passengers and then poor communication or help from the airline. If they would’ve waited 15 minutes, 60 people could’ve made their connection. Instead we have to wait 6-7 hours to board another flight. The customer service at the Moscow airport was sad... only two people at the desk for 60+ customers needing new flights because of their unexplained late departure."

Turns out we didn't miss it, it was delayed 2 hours so we could have been on it, they screwed us."

But the worst part was that my luggage went missing. After it was found nobody let me know so it was just sitting there for three days before I could get a hold of someone. And then after multiple calls they finally said it would take another 5 days to be delivered 200 miles. So I ended up having to go get it myself. Not as much as an apology from them. Aeroflot is absolute garbage. Stay away from them."

Plusy: "Everything about this direct flight from JFK to Moscow was excellent. Boarding went very smoothly as they were strict about loading from the back to the front of the plane. Anyone who tried to circumvent this was sent back to their line. The food was not memorable but perfectly fine and we got 2 full meals— dinner and breakfast— plus several beverage services and a snack. The entertainment interface works well, although they could offer more movies and tv series for sure. The seats are very comfortable and have decent leg room—although I am only 5’2. The crew was exceptionally professional and pleasant. The bathrooms are larger than standard and they offer disposable toothbrushes. Some of my friends made jokes about our flying Aeroflot, but their perceptions are clearly outdated. This is a very good airline from this flight experience. I hope it holds up on our return."

Minusy: "I booked my tirkcet online - and when I happily got to the airport and tried to check in - AEROFLOT personnel saw my reservation but actually ticket wasn't issued - so I was standing there with all my luggage and no ticket. already spent money on taxi cabs etc all I could do was to buy ANOTHER over expensive ticket - with loads of stress. when I landed in russia I received a cancellation notice from Flight Network. this is unacceptable and I am very disappointed that I have to spend so much extra money in the end and wasted so much of my nerves and time!"

The line moved at a very slow pace. This where the problems started. I was blamed for the delay and was told that my ticket has been cancelled and was asked to buy a new ticket at an excessive price. The staff at Moscow airport was really rude and worked at a such a slow pace. I was fourth in the line and yet it took me more than three hours to talk to the person. He simply took 2-3 minutes and faulted me for the missed flight. I was told to come up with money or simply live on the terminal. After a grueling arguments for more than 5-6 hours, finally I was given another flight. I did not waste even a minute in reaching to the terminal. I did not even use restroom. I felt repeatedly insulted by the Moscow Airport staff of Aeroflot. They kept on talking about the rules and faulted me for being late."

Sheremetievo changed it to the gate #2 and call my last name with completely wrong pronunciation. When I realized that my plane is leaving I had to run more than 1 mile to the gate #2 for the 3 min. You have to be a world champion to do it in time so I was 2 min late. The company forced me to buy a new ticket for $100 from Moscow to St Petersburg and said that they never recognize that that is their fault. Several other people were late to that plane."

The crew initially asked me to upright my seat, but upon realizing I was out of space they asked the family to respect my allotted space as well. There was no in-flight entertainment - boo! The food... Interesting at best. And my assigned crew for food service purposefully did not offer refills on my water and it was impossible to get his attention!"

Minusy: "I paid Kayak and it's intermediary justfly.com extra money to sit in a window seat. I wound up sitting in the last row, middle seat, with a broken TV that was "rebooting" the whole flight. I couldn't recline my chair because I was up against the back wall. When I politely said that I paid more for a window seat, and asked to look for an empty seat, the flight attendant brought over a security guard, and warned me that if I continued to "complain", that I would be asked to leave the plane. I kept my mouth shut, and demanded my upgrade fee back from Just Fly after the flight returned. Very rude crew."

Minusy: "The plane is narrow. They want to get as many people as possible on the expense of the comfort. Everyone is literally sitting on each other's lap. For the whole 9 hours there were no entertainment on board. The monitors on the left side of the plane didn't work. My kids went nuts! The flight attendant offered me to catch the technician who inspected the plane instead of complaining to the crew. Really??? I wanted to read a book, but didn't have a light over my head. Also the technician's fault. I don't think I'll ever fly this company again. I'd rather pay more and have a good experience."

Exactly one alcoholic beverage service all flight, and no choice but to go and ask in the galley for anything else - including water. Thin seats that slide forward in addition to reclining. The literal worst boarding and replacing procedures - almost an hour of standing and waiting first in the terminal, then in the aisles. Better hope you speak Russian if you need anything."

Plusy: "Was pleasantly surprised by the comfort aboard and friendliness of staff. While the headphones provided were not great, I used my own and greatly enjoyed the inflight entertainment system. The food and drink selection were good, and we were fed quite a bit throughout the 8 hour flight. Staff was extremely attentive and very friendly."
Minusy: "The boarding process loudspeaker @JFK Terminal 1 was completely inaudible. There was a long line of all the passengers for a long time, instead of announcing and boarding by zone. There was no air option on the flight, and with it being extremely full, it was very hot on board."

I asked one of the stewardesses if she could speak to them but should wait 20 minutes so that its not obvious that it was me who was complaining. She repeated what I said and assured me she will take care of it. Instead she came over to them 2 minutes later and then turned to me and said everything will be ok. Of course they continued being rowdy the whole night. The flight was ruined as I could get no sleep. Will think twice before going with Aeroflot again"

Minusy: "I order a vegeterian meal and got a tiny salad and some fruit. The crew (3 different crew members) told me there isnt any hot vegeterian meal but then i saw the person next to me eating a vegi meal!!! Just after i told the crew i am still hungry they gave me something. What a disgrace!"
Minusy: "My luggage was lost due to a delayed connecting flight, also serviced from Aeroflot. It took more than 72 hours for Aeroflot to finally locate my bags and get them to me. The communication with them in the process was pathetic and practically non-existent. The office I had to speak with every day was only open for 2 hours in the evening, and they typically didn't answer the phone, and even hung up on me once. They had very little visibility to where my bags were and for 48 hours kept a lie going that the bags were with a courier service when they actually were not. I had to actively badger both Aeroflot and ONC Express courier for 72 hours to get my bags back. I'm certain I would not have received by the end of my trip if I didn't stay on top of them as much as I did. They had no interest or concern in getting the bags returned to me until they were hearing from me every day."

I don't think people should stand for that kind of time, waiting to be called to embark. There was a lot of older people in that line but nobody did care. I definitely needed more space for my legs. The space offered was an insult to my body, it was almost a 21th century torture, specially when it was such a long flight."

Since unloading took way longer than needed or it should have plus the combination of the plane arriving late I had no time to make it to my next flight gate. By the time my next flight was open to boarding I was still unloading on my previous flight. That wasn't my fault, I did not book the connecting flight. I had to run to my next gate and I barely made it before it closed. Not pleasant at all."

Minusy: "A/c: My health is very strong. But they put a/c on the lowest temp. And on maximum! Many people stats to feel cold! After a few hours of freezing they made warm wet temperature. And before landing cold againg!!! After the flight I fell down sick with angina and temperature 40'C for 2 days! Missed last working week! And very angry about it! Food: I eat kosher food, but don't eat meat coz of allergia for a animal fats. So I asked for strongly vegan food. They put creamy oil there, so I have no idea what else there could be! I saw in the plate of neighbour with chicken set very tasty salads and other stuff. But my dishes were so poor and untasty. It was one of the worst flights in my life!"

Plusy: "Our connecting flight was cancelled due to weather. That is truly out of the airline’s control. What is in their control is communicating the status of the flight with us. When we checked in they took email addresses and cell phone numbers for status updates. We never received any updates. Consequently we didn’t know the flight had been cancelled until it was too late to make an adequate adjustment. On top of that we had to deal with the worst customer service rep in the world at the ticket booth when we struggled to make alternate plans. Completely unsatisfactory experience."

Lack of assistance from Air Canada personnel was glaring."

I didnt notice until boarding the plane. I showed the customer service agent at the gate and that's when she told me I didnt have a seat on the plane and that they had to get me one before I could board it. Everything ended up working out in the but the same problem happened with another flyer and they couldn't get her a seat. So she had to wait for the next flight!! I felt bad for her because like myself she paid for a seat on that plane and because of Air Canada's horrible system she missed her flight. Also, my flight to Newark was nightmare because my flight from London to Toronto was delayed, and my connecting flight to Newark left without waiting for me and other passengers on the delayed plane. I think that's the most crazy thing because all us passengers paid for that flight and we had no choice but to wait the next day. We were accommodated with a hotel after waiting hours and hours but it was still very frustrating."

I understand now the restrictions to bringing over 120ml bottles but they refused to even pour out half the contents (which they took into consideration on the toronto side) my bottles were only 125ml.... what a joke this airline is. i was flying alone and hadnt travelled from an airport in 15 years- emails i received DID NOT specify the restrictions of what you're allowed to bring in carry ons. how is someone new to this experience supposed to know?????????they simply told me there is a website i can go to to see the restrictions... but that website is not mentioned ANYWHERE. The airport staff were extremely rude and cold while ripping apart my bags because of toiletry bottles. I have an extreme anxiety disorder that made me have a panic attack during the baggage inspect and I was given looks as if i was crazy. absolutely disgusting people working in the airport environments. They caused me a world of stress. I will never in my life fly Air Canada again."

Bags were taken off the plane and then put back on...the subsequent flight (the next day) was also delayed, and required half he plane to sprint through Montreal to their connections. It was not worth it. Especially considering I tried to call Air Canada for some of my refund and the number they gave me was a fax line."

They made an announcement at the gate before boarding that anyone with a US passport had to complete an info card. I feel that was an inefficient way to collect that information as people who arrived after the announcement did not complete it. The card seemed a bit pointless."

Minusy: "Very very bad customer service. I was flying to Rome from NYC on Friday night and my flight was cancelled. I was just notified by a text saying that there was a change in my flight. After calling customer service, I was forced to take the afternoon flight on Friday as I had to be in Rome for a wedding on Saturday. Even if I was rushed to the airport (my call with the customer service took place at 12.00 and the flight was after 2.30 hours...) and cancelled all my appointments and had to take special permission to leave from work, I was never offered any upgrades or refunds while at the same time the attitude of the rep was take the change or leave it. At the airport, I called again the customer service to understand better the cancellation policy based on their website and their response was to apply on the website and maybe I would get a little bit of money and they don't offer upgrades for these kind of situations. They indicated that it is up to gate manager to decide for upgrades, which when I tried this approach I was notified that the customer service should have flag me appropriately....I don't really care about the refund or the upgrade as at the end I was able to reach my destination on time; however, it was extremely disappointing to see a whole organization that does not take into consideration their customers time and ignore any descent customer service to them. Simply, never again."

Plusy: "The service was excellent. Our flight into Calgary was delayed due to bad weather in Newark so we missed our connecting flight. Because of this, the airline payed for our hotel room and for a portion of our meals. Everyone was so helpful and kind when it came to answering our questions and helping us make our experience an easier one."

For rebounding the next morning with no explanation. The next morning the flight was delayed an additional 3HOURS. We were never given food in all this time of a wait. This became an 18+ hour delay. We definitely missed our connection and they rebooked it."

Minusy: "So many small things add up to an overall poor experience on a flight, and it doesn't seem like United understands this. 1) WiFI was down. 2) Entertainment screens for several of the passengers on board were not working. The poor lady next to me had a broken screen, and combined with the broken WiFi, she literally just sat in her seat looking forward for several hours (after she finished the podcasts on her phone). 3) For a 5-6 hour flight, food (more than just snacks) were available for only about half the passengers on board. Apparently its an intentional policy of United to only have food available for a portion of the passengers. It wasn't even possible to purchase it if I wanted to because by the time the crew got to me, they were all out. 4) Baggage space under the seat varies wildly depending on your seat. For some reason, the aisle seat has the smallest space I have ever seen in my life (about the size of a shoe box). It was the first flight I have ever been on where I was literally not able to fit a small backpack underneath my seat."

A small snack-meal was expected for the high cost we pay for ticket. BOO UNITED. UNTIL UNITED PUTS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMFORT FIRST... I and my family will be flying another airline. Very very disappointed."
Plusy: "The crew were competent, friendly and helpful. The back of seat entertainment was very good, with a lot of new releases. When the flight was delayed the pilot did come around and speak to passengers, which I appreciated."

Minusy: "Flight was scheduled to leave at noon. We were delayed for 2.5 hours due to incoming flights, which were delayed. Finally they told us to board at 4 pm. Once everyone was on board, they told us we "lost" our pilot and we had to get off the plane. Thirty minutes later, they "found" a new pilot and boarded us on the plane. We then sat on the plane for 4 hours because there was a system issue and the pilots didn't have our flight plan. At 8 pm, the pilot got off the plane, and new pilots came aboard. Finally, the plane left at 9:30 pm. We never received food vouchers, water, snacks during the delay. The pilot insisted the last delay was due to a system issue, the crew told us it was because of weather. In the end, I think they were all lying to us and they had no intention of leaving on time and just made excuses. We lost a whole day in Bermuda because of their lies. I will never fly United again."

After maintenance came on board the decision was made to deplane. Finally, a plane from Chicago was scheduled to take us to San Diego. After boarding at about 12:30, it was discovered that catering never loaded food. We waited for over an hour for food to be delivered. At close to 2pm the Captain, who kept us aware of what was going on, asked us if we would agree to leave without a full delivery of food, and all agreed. So by 2pm we were finally enroute to San Diego but having a seat in the back meant we only got to eat what was left, which for me, was a small cheese pack."

Once on the plane for a 14+ hour flight, I couldn’t use the bathrooms freely as they were filthy. The staff obviously didn’t maintain the bathrooms during the entire flight. The food served made me wish that I had bought take-out food for 3-meals prior to my boarding. the quantity of food was inadequate for the long flight as well. 1 extra snack would have been appreciated. I will likely book my future trans-Pacific flights with another airline."

The woman checking the tickets while boarding was incredibly curt and rude to the old man in front of me (who clearly had an issue with his ticket that was not his fault), then when she got to me she took a look at my bag and said "it's huge I need to check that". It's a bag that I have carried on to hundreds of flights (feel free to look at my flight history with united) and definitely fits in to the over head. When I asked her "is it too big or is there no space?" she said "no space" without even looking at me. I proceeded to board the flight only to find tons of over head compartment space. This is very frustrating. She didn't even take the time to fit my bag in the measuring tool at boarding. She seemed to be in a rush for no reason. The flight was already delayed and being rude wasn't going to make it go any faster. I'm now a silver status member, likely to be gold by the end of the year. I've flown a lot, and I think it's totally reasonable to expect at least some level of politeness while boarding."

They made us wait seven hours and gave us a voucher for food at the last minute. People had already bought food. I would not recommend United to none of my associates."
Minusy: "I don't understand the purpose of basic economy. I bought my ticket months ahead of time and paid over $300 for it. Only to find out when it was time to board that I wasn't guaranteed a seat. EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT A TICKET AND IT WASNT CHEAP. I was put on a waitlist and finally got a ticket after boarding was supposed to be over. I was appalled by the whole thing. Doing away with basic economy or just giving those who buy those tickets the basic rights that should come with an airline ticket should be considered. How can you deny someone a seat if they bought a ticket months ahead of time? What if I wasn't lucky and couldn't get a seat? Wait until the next flight hours later and get put on a waitlist there too? Something needs to change."

Plusy: "I know it's not the crews fault for the delay, but everything was just truly horrendous. I was a little hesitant to fly United after their scandal, but now I know that I should not have. After a 2+ hour delay, I had to pay $60 at the gate to check a CARRY-ON that I had already asked about at the baggage drop at the beginning of that dreadful day. They assured me that it would be no problem, and foolish me, I actually believed them, so instead of paying $25 to check it ahead of time, I got screwed for $60. For a close to 6 hour flight, a meal should be provided. Entertainment was free because of the fiasco, but normally it's $7.99 which is ridiculous. Lastly, the leg room was really nonexistent. Truly the worst experience I've ever had flying, and I've flown plenty of airlines, both domestic and international. I definitely think my return trip back to Jersey will be my last time flying United."
Minusy: "Refer to the aforementioned post outlining everything I did not like about this absolute trip from hell. Very disappointing to experience that and it really started the trip out on a sour note. Hopefully it gets better before I have to get back on another United plane back home."
Plusy: "We went through four scales showing weight complience only to be over the limit each time we got to the final check. And we were accompanied by an United person each time. The only logical reason is that the final scale shows more. They had no idea of how to treat a passager courteously You could see that they are trained to always be right and cougt with their offul reputation they were asked to be better, but they didn't know what better means. The food could not be fed to a dog. The absolute cheapest ever. Two tiniest pieces of chicken, one piece of bread and a sort of pasta sald with raisin uneatable. The service in Paris was better because United couldn't destroy it like in Ny"

Minusy: "The lady in the front desk treated me different then other passengers, i am the only one who was asked to put her carry on in the box to check the fit, and even didn't give me the chance to fit it there, she said its not feet i need to check it in, and i was forced to check my carry on in! The othere passenger have carry on just like mine and some are even bigger then mine!!! They wasn't asked to fit there carry on to the box she just let them in the flight with their bags thats a shame to united airlines who use to be until today my favorite and most recommended flight company. As a result of having my carry on checked in, for now my ride need to be delyed that's going to cost me! Who is going to pay for it thats what im asking, besides the lady was acting rude but i dont know her name unfortunately, in my carry on i have important documents if they are going to be damaged because that lady desid to check my bag in the box and determined un truly that it wont fit (only mine) that won't be good. Plusy: "The person sitting next to me...that were pleasant."
Minusy: "That when I explained being hearing impaired the boarding attendant said my carry on needed to be checked. I didn't understand her and proceeded to the loading blank. Then when boarding the attendant informed me. I explained I checked my bag in the airport compartment tester and it was fine. I also asked the attendant at the counter. She confirmed it was fine. Still smiling until the snack pretzels were passed out. When I didn't hear the attendant's question, in spite of telling her I was hearing impaired, she threw her hand up rudely and just continued on to other customers. When boarding I watched orhers board with the same size bag as mine, and wondered if telling someone you can't hear gives them the right to inform you at the gate that your bag needs to be checked?"
Plusy: "The flight wasn't too packed."
Minusy: "My husband and I flew from Newark to Atlanta on 03/12/2017 with United. My husband is active duty military and Alicia assisted us with checking in our baggage. She was very kind and helpful. After retrieving our tickets, we went through Security and my goodness, the process at Newark is awful and TSA WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. That's besides the point. Our flight was delayed because the pilot was not there. Our departure was at 0605 and we didn't leave until 0630. Everyone boarded the plane and we were waiting for the pilot. Then the crew members were pretty rude and not friendly. I know it's an early bird flight but jeez, they can be a little nicer. One stewardess had high heel boots and literally would stomp up and down the aisle. Then she kept saying my purse was not under my seat which it clearly was. I don't know where else she'd like me to put it, maybe in the passengers seat in front of me. I would probably not fly United unless I have no other choice."
Plusy: "I was allowed to get off the aircraft to collect a bag I left behind"
Minusy: "Flight was delayed, causing major inconveniences, especially as I was on my way to a funeral Only compensation was a food/beverage voucher equal to the value of 5 Swiss Francs, enough to buy a bottle of water despite HOURS wasted"
Plusy: "The flight attendants were friendly for the most part."
Minusy: "On both flghts we requested a bassinet for our 3 month old. We were told on the phone if one was available we were able to have it. Both flights had bassinets but we weren't allowed access to them. On our first leg the bassinet was in economy plus and we were economy. On the way home our fight was downsized to a smaller plane and the airline was too busy trying to cut 25 people off the fight they weren't able to give us a seat where the bassinet would be. We asked several flight attendants and got different answers from each one."
Plusy: "The flight itself was great.. However the experience at the airport was terrible.. After placing several calls prior to my departure date to confirm that my 40 inch TV was ok for transportation , it wasn't until I got to the airport to find out that I was unable to take the TV or the TV stand.. I live in Philadelphia and had nowhere to leave it causing me to give it to a stranger in order to make my flight . I am very distraught that the information indicating there was an embargo restricting the transportatione of TV greater 32 inches or boxes to Montego Bay was not given during any of those calls.. I don't understand why that information was not sent in an email prior.. On top of that I placed a call to customs in Montego Bay and was adviced that the embargo is enforced by the airline not customs... If I could some how get some answers regarding this I would appreciate it..."
Plusy: "The Flight attendants were nice."
Minusy: "The airport was horrible. Hard to get to the C concourse. "train" is TOO SMALL. It barely fits 10 in each car. International transfer of bags was Horrible, and very far apart from where you get the bags. Poorly planned or not at all planned. We barely had time to make the flight with 1 1/2 hours to transfer and would have missed our flight if it wasn't for a trolley driver who took us from security to the gate. There is no power at the seats. The plane is old and seats were very uncomfortable. Yeah, this was the worst flight."
Plusy: "Little to add."
Minusy: "The plane was delayed incoming. Then boarding was interminably long because of overbooking and no overhead room for luggage. It took precious time to load passengers 1 group at a time while bags were checked. Once airborne I saw I only had 10 minutes or less to make my connection in Newark, which I inevitably missed. Poorly scheduled. Many passengers missed connections. It would have been much quicker and easier to advise passengers to check bags at the gate BEFORE the plane arrived knowing it was overbooked. I'm very disappointed in how the entire boarding was handled given the time constraints."
Plusy: "I arrived at the aurport 1 hr 20 mins before flight - plenty if time to check in and make it to gate at a small airport ad Newark is. Wanted to check in online - the United System did not allow me to. Had to wait in line - long line due to holidays. I raised my hand and asked for assistance given the impending 1 hr cut off time for check in. Was told I should go to the special assustance line. Well, guess what - that line which was meant to be express service for fliers with special situations was moving with the speed of a tortoise - slower than the general line. Only 2 flight assistants were servicing, both incredibly slow. When asked politely that I need special assistance as I was approaching the 1 hr cut iff fir checkin, the United lady yelled at me instead of speeding up her slow motion. Bottom line, I missed my flight on a tiny airport dedpite arriving 1 hr 20 mins before flight. Had to wait 14 hrs overnight at the airport to catch the next flight because the United Airlines personnel are lazy, slow, inefficient, rude and no customer oriented. Terrible service."
Minusy: "I was in the center bulkhead seat with an very oversized man on the aisle seat with a "service dog". It was not a service dog in the sense that it was all over the place--on my feet and in the aisle where it tripped a stewardess more than once and she told him it couldn't be in the aisle. So it pushed over to my seat because the guy was just to big to share his legroom. It shredded napkins the man dropped which a trained dog would not do. it bounced his tray table up causing him to drop his two vodkas. I had to have the stewardess tell him to move his arm and body out of my seat so I could stow my tray for landing. When waiting for my ride outside the dog was off lease and ran into the pickup lanes where the man had to chase him down. A true service dog would never behave like that."
Plusy: "The crew were nice though exasperated with cramped new planes and crowded restrooms. Flight was on time"
Minusy: "After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit"
Minusy: "I upgrade to premium economy. This gave me a seat with legroom -but one that did NOT RECLINE ... on a night flight. I am very unhappy. It was not made clear when I upgraded (must have been very small print). I feel ripped off"
