Plusy: What and amazing hotel. The location is really wonderful. Just next to a very nice temple. The staff was super nice. The bath was exceptional. And the decor very harmonic and cozy.

Plusy: The location of the hotel is absolutely superb. The hotel is clean, modern and very comfortable,, The staff are courteous, friendly and very helpful.

Minusy: Facilities are limited. The nearest gym is a 10 minute car ride away. There is no bar or lounge to speak of. The restaurant reservations service is somewhat rigid and geared towards tourist oriented establishments (as opposed to eateries frequented by locals)

Plusy: Super śniadania (każdego dnia coś innego, do wyboru dania azjatyckie i europejskie tosty), czysto. Bardzo dużo miejsca w pomieszczeniach z prysznicami. Dostępna przestronna kuchnia z darmową kawą, herbatą i wodą do picia. Dodatkowo hostel organizuje małe imprezy dla gości (załapałem się na takoyaki party)

Minusy: Trochę mało miejsca w zamykanych szafkach (w pokoju).

Plusy: The facilities are modern, nice cafe location downstairs which makes a good place to sit when waiting for laundry. The room was clean and staff were helpful.

Minusy: The room was a little small and had a step up into the bathroom which I wasn’t expecting (I’d recently badly injured my knee so steps can be an issue).

Plusy: Personel znakomicie posługujący się językiem angielskim. Bardzo przyjaźni, otwarci i pomocni. Sam hostel przewyższył nasze oczekiwania. Wystrój wnętrz w 100% zgadza się z tymi przedstawionymi na zdjęciach. Wszystkim serdecznie polecam ten obiekt, my z pewnością tam powrócimy! :)

Plusy: I wish there were more hotel options like this one in Japan! Reasonably priced, perfect sized room, modern facilities and brighter than your usual Japanese room. Amazing customer service and the staff speaks English. Location is perfect as well.

Minusy: Nothing

Plusy: I wanted to be immediately by the shopping area. The room was clean.

Minusy: Room too small with three sides of the bed against walls, no view, industrial look, no english information on how to turn a/c to heater.

Plusy: Daily complimentary Breakfast was advised that is not much of variety but to us, it was fantastic! Different menu daily. We all love it!!!

Plusy: The room is clean and comfortable. Although there is no bathroom inside, the shared one is big and clean. The shared kitchen and dinning area is spacious. You can cook simple food. There’s also bicycle renting service which is only 500 yen per day. Cycling in Kyoto is great and more convenience than taking public transport to those temples.

Plusy: The service is excellent with helpful staffs. The design is simple but is comfortable. The room is not big but clean and comforting. The location is very close to the Kyoto station and many convenient stores and restaurants nearby. If you like travelling by bike, there is bike rental for only 500 yens a day. I will recommend this hostel to my friends.

Plusy: Stayed at 2 hostels in Kyoto but Piece provided me a larger bed. The staff were very helpful. The hostel is just adjacent to Kyoto station.

Minusy: The breakfast could be improved.

Plusy: Bardzo dobry hostel. Mała powierzchnia pokoju, ale spokojnie wystarcza na dwie osoby (na nocleg i schowanie walizek pod łóżko). Personel potrafi posługiwać się angielskim, co jest dużym atutem w Japonii. Na recepcji dostępnych jest wiele odpłatnych opcji (przenośne routery wi-fi, wypożyczenie roweru, wykupienie dziennej karty miejskiej). Śniadanie bezpłatne dla gości, przygotowane z podstawowych produktów. Skromny wybór, ale i tak przewyższyło moje oczekiwanie. Kuchnia do dyspozycji przez cały dzień. Codzienne wieczorem na barze happy hour, a dwa razy w tygodniu kulinarne tematyczne party. Hostel bardzo blisko dworca głównego w Kyoto i jest to jego wielka zaleta jeśli ktoś korzysta z JR Pass.

Minusy: Łazienki dostępne tylko na pierwszym piętrze. Mały dyskomfort, ale nigdy nie było kolejek.

Plusy: So Clean, convenient area, staffs are so nice, friendly, helpful , and attention to details - Renting the bicycles from the hostel wow we were so enjoying the cycling around the attractions.

Actually i stayed for my 15th days at the Millenials as a gift to myself for the HOLIDAYS..i always kind a like this feel compfy then ..staying Longer and long term..Unplanned. Plusy: Śniadanie nie było fajne (wypieki typu rogalik z francuskiego ciasta, ale z wielkich paczek), zwłaszcza gdy spędziło się więcej niż 1 noc. Ale hotel i tak godny polecenia. Dobra kawa bez ograniczeń.

Plusy: Obiekt nowy, w bardzo dobrym stanie. Kabiny mają łóżko, ale można je regulować do pozycji kanapy. Budzik działa właśnie na tej zasadzie. Wszystko zarządzane z iPoda, który jest do dyspozycji w kabinie. Dobra lokalizacja, ok. 400 metrów od stacji metra.

Minusy: Śniadanie wyglądało na bardzo skromne, dlatego z niego nie skorzystaliśmy. Pościel nie jest wymieniana codziennie.

Plusy: Facilities are great, staff are really helpful. And everyone loves free beer.

Minusy: Quilt is a bit cold for winter.

Plusy: Top location, high quality facilities, nice variety of amenties also you have a projector in the room. Friendly staff, free coffee all day and free beer in the evening. They nicely cooked hot wine and gave xmas gift to the guests. Very high value.

Plusy: The huge bed, wonderful equipment and nice staff.

Minusy: The hair dryer works inefficient. It's the only thing I don't like.

Plusy: The size of the room and the beds and the additional futon are very comfortable.

Minusy: The room looks modern, but not very practical. There is no place to hang our face towels and the water doesn't drain quickly and completely, leaving spots in the sink. There is no view. Overall overpriced.

Plusy: Beautiful boutique hotel with gracious staff. We enjoyed a Japanese pastry making one evening where we learned how to make seasonal Manaka. The hotel does a great job at showcasing local Kyoto artists. The rooms are large and very relaxing with a traditional wooden bath and tatami mat sitting area. Service was exceptional.

Minusy: The location is convenient to Kyoto Station but is a bit of a walk or a quick metro to the main shopping area.

Plusy: Good location, nice beddings

Plusy: the room size was very good for family of 3 to 4 persons. very nicely decorated with mix of Japanese Zen style and modern in-room facilities, esp the washroom. my family and I were esp impressed with the food quality in its teppanyaki restaurant (beef was well prepared), and its breakfast. definitely will come back again.

Minusy: nothing to complain

Plusy: Big, clean and comfy rooms at a very reasonable price. Location is also awesome, being near to the subway and several attractions.

Plusy: ALL! The staffs are friendly, good location. Very close to public transportation. The environment is clean and comfortable.

Plusy: It was very clean and everything looked brand new. Bathroom and toilet are separated. Provide good shower gel, shampoo and conditioner! Plus Near to shopping areas. We did not managed to have a parking reserve for us on the day of checkin though so had to park somewhere else that was recommended by the hotel.

Minusy: Did not reserve a parking lot for us during day 1 of checkin.

Plusy: Location is perfect for walking to main street shopping , old Gion and Potoncho. Tube stations is nearby and so is the JR station. Taxi is convenient to hail. Pretty streets and river walks with lovely restaurants and cafes. Super Clean and organised . The hotel is quiet ( didn't need any earplugs like most hotels we have been staying lately ) Plus after a long day, it is nice to soak at their very nice ofuro (public bath and provided with high quality towels and toiletries.). In the bedroom, pillows and matress are super comfortable. Pyjamas and lounge wear are provided making it less wash for our limited clothing. Arigat gozaimas to their kind and friendly staff. will definitely come back and stay with Solaria Kyoto again.

Plusy: Great hotel. Onsen was very nice addition and has good facilities. Room was spacious with toilet separate from bathroom. Garden view room was great and private. Beds super comfy. Duvets like clouds. Won't be a mistake if you stay here.

Plusy: The room was very comfortable with a very nice bath tub in the bathroom. The hotel location is near the train station and strategic bus stops for going to the tourist attractions and Nishiki market also in walking distance, so finding food won’t be a problem.

Plusy: The entire staff was absolutely polite, hospitable and helpful! I erroneously booked room for two although traveling alone and receptionist notice that and they managed to amend my booking and deduct the cost! Unbelievable and happened to me first time! Location is very good, close to the shopping district and historical part however in a quiet street so no any noise from traffic etc. Hotel does have its own onsen (Japanese bath) in the basement, separated for male and female so you could use it for free. Hotel does provide special clothes and flip-flops for using in the bath. Breakfast was plentiful with local and western style of dishes, very well served.

Minusy: Very minor thing: the room is equipped with a device looks like a portable heater or dehumidifier. But there is no instruction provided for it. Wasn't a big issue for me as the temperature/humidity was OK but if you don't know Japanese you can't figure what's that. Anyway this is very minor and everyone could actively ask staff...

Plusy: We picked the hotel based on location. It was perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do. But it was also very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant because our plans took us elsewhere for meals.

Minusy: No complaints.

Plusy: Genialnie położony hotel, lepiej chyba nie można w Kyoto. Pokoje bardzo czyste, bo hotel raczej nowy. Dobrze sprzątane. Codziennie świeża woda i czyste piżamy. W naszym pokoju kosmetyki były (szampon, płyn do kąpieli, odżywka do włosów i obowiązkowo mydło w płynie Shiseido. Śniadania raczej różnorodne, zarówno typowo japońskie dania jak i trochę dań europejskich. My na 7 piętrze mieliśmy widok na dachy okolicznych domów, całkiem przyjemny widok. Pokój był cichy. Generalnie okolica po godzinie 20.00 robiła się bardzo cicha.

Minusy: Wszystko było w porządku.

Plusy: Bardzo dobry hotel w świetnej lokalizacji. W samym centrum Nishiki Market (zadaszone ulice handlowe). My byliśmy w części południowej.Pokój nowy, miał wszystko co potrzeba - zgodnie z opisem. Osobno łazienka (wanna, prysznic na zasadzie onsenu), toaleta z wszystkimi japońskimi bajerami.W przedpokoju umywalka z lustrem. Wszystko nowe, czyste i ładne. Śniadania rewelacyjne w połowie japońskie i europejskie smaki. Można popróbować. Codziennie sprzątanie i wymiana ręczników i codziennie darmowe butelki z wodą mineralną. Bardzo blisko wschodniej części Kioto (do Gion czy Kiyomizudera na nogach). W recepcji można kupić całodniowy bilet na autobusy (600 jenów). Koszt jednego przejazdu to 230 jenów od osoby dorosłej - więc jeśli korzystasz więcej niż 2 razy to się opłaca. Widok z okna nie powala ale kto siedziałby w hotelu w Kioto... Obsługa rewelacyjna. Polecam ten hotel.

Plusy: Thanks to front desk staff for retrieving my property mistakenly removed by cleaning staff. Location in shopping area and having separate room areas for bed, bath/shower, toilet and sink. If you request early you may get a room with mountain view.

Minusy: Non-competitive breakfast cost. Taxi can not stop near hotel entrance. Water and room temperatures unstable.

Plusy: Cleaness

Minusy: The location is not good.

Plusy: This is one of two of our favourite hotels in Japan. It is situated in a large covered shopping complex so food and other things were readily at hand. It was also convenient to catch busses or get taxis. One of its best features is that there is a stand-alone shower in the bathroom - no need to climb in and out of the bath tub, and important consideration for me - I am 83 and partially disabled.

Minusy: What was there to dislike!

Plusy: Washer-dryer in the room, free drinks in the lobby.

Plusy: The big room with 4 bed is comfortable for my family. The breakfast is very good and my family enjoyed it.

Plusy: Loved everything about this hotel. One of the most comfortable place i ever stayed with my family. Would highly recommend this place to anyone going to kyoto. Love, love, love EVERYTHING

Minusy: No coffee in the room, have to go to the lobby to get from the machine and bring it to the room.

Plusy: Very modern and comfortable.

Plusy: This was our third time in Kyoto and we think have found the perfect hotel. The location is really great, only 3 metro stops from the main train station, and centrally located in the center with plenty of restourants and shops within walking distance. Also easy access to bus stops and convenient stores(7/11, family mart, lawson). The room are big compared the japan standard and the cleaness is oustanding. We enjoyed our time there, the bed was very comfy and the quality of sleep excellent. All the staff was kind and smiling. We recommend it 100%.

Plusy: Loved everything about the hotel. Staff very helpful and the room was beautiful. The hotel and the rooms were very comfortable and inviting. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. The location is a bit aways from alot of attractions but the hotel provides a shuttle to the subway station and from there you can also catch the JR Trains.

Minusy: In house restaurants were expensive.

Plusy: Love the quiet location near the Imperial Palace. Modern comfortable facilities with a strong local flavor. Doesn’t feel like a big tourist oriented hotel. Some nice small touches such as matcha tea in the rooms.

Minusy: 1. the hotel TV has only one English channel, 10 Japanese channels. 2. there is no gym facilities, no swimming pool 3. Buffett food has very few items 4. very little information about available local tours

Plusy: The whole hotel was so fancy and My parents got satisfied by their kind service. Amenities were good, ah they supplied us twin double bed and it was also good. The room was clean and comfortable.

Minusy: The only problem of this hotel was the location. Not too bad but can't explain it's good. We 4 families always used taxi but solo or couple travelers may feel the taxi fee in Osaka is a little bit expensive.

Plusy: This hotel was gorgeous, with a very comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, and friendly, attentive staff.

Minusy: The location of this hotel is not great for sightseeing or leaving the hotel for a meal. The shuttle bus to the subway line is handy though (I just wish I knew I about it before hailing a cab to get there from downtown).

Minusy: Małe pokoje. Nie ma opcji wegetariańskie jedzenia w lokalnej restauracji.

Plusy: Immaculate and well appointed. Helpful staff.

Minusy: No food options except in the rather expensive restaurant.

Plusy: Nice onsen that was free to use by guests. Comfortable bed and quiet location. Very nice staff who were incredibly helpful.

Minusy: The pillows on the bed are filled with beads. I would have preferred a normal pillow as I found the beads uncomfortable and to thin.

Plusy: My husband and I always stay in this hotel every time we’re in Kyoto ... the place is a very good place to stay ... more power to your company !!!

Plusy: Liked the rooms, the bath, the location, the staff, the overall look and feel, the room amenities.

Minusy: Not much! Room was a little tight but it was 3 beds so can't really complain. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, so can't comment. We'd definitely come back.

Plusy: This hotel felt almost brand new and for the price, it was an amazing value. I was staying at other value hotels in the area but when I found this hotel I thought I would give it try based on ratings. I was not disappointed - it had a feel of a medium priced hotel in the US (think Hilton or Marriott) but I paid closer to the lower range of a budget hotel. Granted, I am not going during peak season. The interiors was luxurious and everything felt new. I would stay here again, hands down.

Minusy: It's a bit hard to find because it's in an alley way and generally signage is hard to see anywhere in this part of Kyoto. Be prepare to have your gps on to find this spot.

Plusy: Elegant design, classy rooms and amenities, attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially the onsen/ spa, which was a real treat after long sightseeing days in Kyoto. Location is excellent.

Minusy: Restaurant is nice, although lacking in continental cuisine. Fitness/ gym centre would have been a plus.

Plusy: Staff were fantastic - very knowledgeable and attentive. The breakfast buffet was also delicious - huge variety and everything I tried was very good.

Minusy: I was fine with it, but some foreigners may not like the pillows (one side was cushiony and the other side was a bean bag style filling). However, I did see another guest returning to his room with a couple plush looking pillows so it appears you can request a more standard pillow if you prefer.

Plusy: Great public bath, excellent location in Kyoto.

Minusy: No window views. Rooms with one bed a bit small.

Plusy: The Onsen on the property is the reason We like to stay at this hotel. The staff if helpful and at least one person at the front desks understands English. Property is upscale so price of room is a little high. It was our third stay at this site.

Minusy: The washer-dryer is the combination type that does both functions and could take up to 90+ minutes to complete. There are only 2 machines and this last trip, they were in demand with not very nice guest who wanted to use the machine. Perhaps, they can add at least one more for the guests.

Plusy: It was just the good size hotel in a quiet street. It had all the japanese feature with a design touch. The staff was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed coming back and have a coffee and snack offered.

Plusy: Spacious room, great bed, good location and nice breakfast!

Plusy: The unisex communal bath was very nice and relaxing. Drinks and snacks were provided in the lounge throughout the day. Room was bigger than expected (by Japan standard)

Plusy: Comfortable, good value. It’s good that they provide humidifier.

Minusy: The smell of bathroom is bad. Maybe the hotel should fix it properly. Even you turn on the fan all the time, still have bad sell in the bathroom.

Minusy: The price to value was very high and the hotel billed me twice accidentally.

Minusy: They woke us up at 7:50 to tell us about a restaurant we asked for breakfast recommendation. The room is too small, with to storage space for a couple, a view of "the city" looks like a slam, lack of a 5-star quality, yet the service was good.

Plusy: Discreet & the amazing attention to detail

Minusy: Initially our room looked into someone’s toilet! We asked to be moved and we were & given French champagne!

Plusy: Everything about this hotel is so beautiful. Their greatest strenght is in their concierge team and their luxurious breakfasts.

Minusy: Absolutely genuinely nothing

Plusy: Italian restaurant and the Japanese restaurants are both good

Minusy: There’s one guy at the concierge attitude is not very friendly! he never smile when you come to talk to him. And the rest of people are good.

Plusy: So much of your experience of Kyoto is where you are staying. I am so glad I changed hotels to stay at the Ritz one night. The service is outstanding, the location is incredible, and I had one of the nicest spa experiences of my whole life. Staying here will be one of my top memories of my lifetime. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Minusy: While you expect to pay extra for such luxury accommodation the price charged was excessive in my assessment compared to other accommodations available given the limited number of amenities available - 2 restaurants only in particular.

Plusy: Staff were amazing! We had a wonderful experience, the bed was SO comfortable and the facilities were exceptional.

Plusy: The staff is very friendly and helpful. My girlfriend was headache at the midnight and they are willing to help to buy pain killer at that point of time. Very flexible & helpful arrangement. Able to help purchase Japanese sweet in advance. Besides, the hotel located beside the river and the view is simply superb.
