Staff seemed to try their best.
There was a drunk man yelling profanities and slamming doors from 3-4:30 am in the room next door. It also sounded like they were fighting and slamming each other against the walls. Another man banged on our room window from outside multiple times at 4 am. We let the front desk know three times and they finally kicked the occupants out. The pool was completely packed and included 5-10 people swimming in their pajamas and day clothes. Pool is always out of towels, some kid puked on the pool deck and another person started blasting rock music. I would recommend having a pool attendant at this place. The shower door in the room leaks bad and is a potential hazard. Dirty floors, only decaf coffee stocked in room, wall light in shower room didn’t work, and lots of families with unruly children. Will never ever stay here again, worst hotel experience of my life!!!
Nice place orher than bad pool experience
Nice room and breakfast buffet
The pool was a disappointment
Three night stay
Quiet location, great breakfast, conscientious staff, clean adequate parking, very good value
Rural Alaska communities lack many basic amenities, one being swimming pools. Alaska families like to book with hotels with swimming pools. This brings lots of children as most families are 3 to 5 children. As such it can be somewhat boisterous in the hallways. The doors are heavy and close loudly. The inroom wall heaters are nice but somewhat loud in the fan noise.
I really like this hotel, BUT........
Quiet location, very clean, modern rooms.
The TV never worked during the entire stay. Staff was notified and I was told that "upgrades" to the system were being made, but apparently they never reached my room. The pool/spa was also closed during the entire stay. For the price you pay here ($200+/night), one might expect better planning when doing work on amenities that travelers are paying for.
I picked the hotel because of its location, I needed to be near the Alaska native medical center but found that the room was so clean and perfect. One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly!
There wasn't much to like! I wish they had more of a set schedule for shuttle service. And the morning I needed a shuttle to the airport the driver hadn't shown up to work but that's an isolated incident.
Beautiful modern design, the set up of the room was very efficient
The room wasn't entirely perfect. We were missing sofa bed cushions and a coffee maker. Otherwise, it was great!
Clean environment. Free breakfast. Calm location.
There were no locks for the toilet or the bathroom. Apparently this is the case in all rooms (!). We stayed in a 2-bed room with other family members including children. No locks don't make sense at all. I'd not pick this hotel again just for this reason if I'm going with family again.
