Plusy: This is a very special place. We stayed two nights. It is full of history and beautiful antiques. We enjoyed our large room and beautiful bathroom. Walking the grounds in fall weather was lovely. The buildings are a joy to explore and the location and town of Guimaraes is tremendous. We did not want to leave. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. They spoiled us and it was nice to sit by the fire on a chilly morning. Staff and service were excellent.

Plusy: Beautiful hotel in a historical building with a large beautiful garden. The location is great. It only takes about 20 minutes to walk to the old town. Wonderful atmospheric and well-preserved historic hotel. I felt I was staying at a museum. The hotel is really the best attraction in Guimaraes.
Minusy: The breakfast could be improved.

Plusy: Renovated rooms and restaurant done very nicely. Close to downtown sites. Had one of our better dinners in HOOF restaurant and breakfast there was very nice with lots of options. Wifi worked well and room was quiet. Parking was free about 150 m from hotel. If in area would definitely re-book.
Minusy: Weather had turned cool and heat was on and for some reason hard to control. Minor inconvenience.

Plusy: Bardzo czysto, sporo miejsca, wygodne łóżko, bardzo fajnie wykończony pokój z balkonem, ubikacją i łazienką. Bardzo dogodna lokalizacja, praktycznie samo centrum miasta. Recepcja co prawda tylko do 20, ale ponieważ się spóźniliśmy, klucz zostawiono nam w pobliskiej restauracji.
Minusy: Niestety było troszkę zimno, ale to bardziej kwestia pogody za oknem. Przydałby się też czajnik w pokoju.

Plusy: the hotel staff are so nice and helpful; room pretty clean. great location, in the center, with supermarket froiz 3-minute walk, train station 800 meters away. locals are extremely kind; 2 people directed me to the hotel.
Minusy: it’s not the hotel’s fault, but i have to mention it for your information, a bit noisy. people are so active around this area. with a bar downstairs, on every single midnight, mostly until early morning, it’s just like an evening plaza.

Minusy: Unfortunately, it does not have an elevator. A third floor room is a real climb with luggage. However, the young lady at he desk helped carry my suitcase up.

Minusy: The hotel building is a little bit old, needs renovation. Additionally, whenever you open the water you will need to wait a few seconds for the brownish water to go away. Last but not least, isolation is not great.

Minusy: This hotel is advertised by bookings.com as a boutique hotel in PORTO. It is 40 minutes from Porto. We booked this based on an ad on the internet. The hotel would not return our money although they did upgrade the room. They also stated that this has happened before and that they had informed bookings.com and if I tried to argue with bookings.com they would say it was my fault for not doing enough investigation on the location.

Plusy: It is a normal hotel room close to the nearby train station - so good to get free parking close by which was important for me. Rooms to the back are quiet, to the front very noisy.
Minusy: I don't like hard beds and the very the thick pillows (in all Portuguese hotels so far), neither that the towels smell of parfume/conditioner/softener and bath stuff is wrapped in plastic. I would like a more allergy and environmentally friendly approach in all hotels in general.

Plusy: People were very nice, location okay. Rooms were big and comfortable, wifi connection working.
Minusy: The breakfast was poor, no vegetables, only one choice for ham, cheese.. The food that was there was okay and good, but it was very weak in the terms of choice. Very cold in the rooms and everywhere but maybe that's just what Portugal is in autumn. Heating in room worked, but was very noisy. There is a strange rule you cannot check in before 2pm, or you pay 15euro more. Had to wait 15min to check without this extra cost (like I understand if I came 3 hours earlier, but this I dont understand.
