Very friendly and helpful reception, very polite staff. Room was very large and clean, the bed better than at home.Breakfast substantial and four course dinner better than we expected, enough variation. Bar and terrace elegant. The atmosphere relaxed.
The view from our balcony could be a little better. Outside pool quite small. Service in restaurant some times too rapid - four course dinner in one hour!

Fantastic hotel. Big, beautiful rooms. Close to center of Funchal. Very friendly staff.
The morning coffee is unbelievably bad.

Front of house staff are very friendly and professional. The spa was great - fab massage, but the outdoor and indoor pool were cold even though heated. Breakfast was ok, dinner was rushed and the goan specialities were far too hot [we have been to goa and nothing was that hot]. Room comfy and clean.
Much better food and service at Da Forte restaurant in town.

The hotel staff was especially courteous and helpful (front desk, bar, etc). Very nice spa & pools. The bar and restaurant are also in line with what you would expect from a 5-star hotel (lovely dinner, and excellent breakfast buffet). Much more charming hotel than the neighboring huge complexes.
