It was close to the train station

Hard to get into, you have to go throught the service area of another hotel to get in and out. Smoking rooms nearby vented into the room so it was like you were smoking yourself, not pleasant since we were non smoking guests. Very pricey for very basic accomodation

the location is superb - 1 min walking from the sbb central station; 5 walking mins from the city center (=1 tram ride); the hotel provided a free transportation ticket, which includes all the transportation within the city - very useful! the breakfast was absolutely superb, taking into consideration that this is a 2 star hotel - the variety, the quality of products, the quantity. (but perhaps this is simply due to the breakfast being served at Euler, which is a 5 star hotel..); the shower was excellent and the room in general, for a one person, was big and comfy - as much as it can be.

the lift only goes to 1st floor, and if your rooms are higher up, you'll have to use the stairs. generally, not a big deal - but when you have a huge luggage, like i did, and noone to help you, it's not a pleasant experience. in addition, the window opened only slightly. for me it wasn't a problem, as i traveled in cold weather (~15 celcius outside), but i imagine that in the summer this might present a problem..

breakfast buffet

Most of the hotel staff were nice. When I had a complaint the manager was polite and listened. I was offered a room upgrade. The hotel is very convenient to the central railway station. Breakfast was good.

The receptionist was rude and arrogant but changed her attitude after I complained. The room at the Hotel Central was very small and at 120 CHF per night seems overpriced to me.

Location, good breakfast.

No lift available to the 2ed floor rooms where my room was.
