Hotel del Mar

Great spot! The hotel was close to the harbor and the Ramblas.

The bed was uncomfortable and there was no bathtub, even though the site said it would have one. The bathroom amenities were not filled up after they were empty. Bring your own! The electricity in the room only works if your room-key is inserted in the slot and is turned off during the day. At 11 o'clock in the morning we had no electricity in the room and bathroom, so we had to shower in the dark. The hotel staff was rude and not very helpful.

Rooms quite small but good size bathrooms. Would not like to stay here in summer as rooms quite stuffy. Clean and comfortable.

Hotel was clean and conveniently placed near Barceloneta metro station and walking distance from the port, beach and the Rambla.

Hotel lacked many other qualities and amneties that makes a hotel worthwhile staying. For one thing there were no English channels on tv, no fridge, no coffee / tea making facilites. Toiletries were worse than poor. (two sachets of shower jel and a tiny bar of soap). I think the breakfast was overpriced for the range of food being served. If you want to stay in this hotel I'd recommend that you bring your own entertainment, toiletries, food and also ear plugs to block out the street noise.

Location was perfect for us.

Having to pay to use a safe. This is an essential requirement for all travellers.
